Koja, Jakarta
Koja is a district of North Jakarta, Indonesia. It is known as the location of Kampung Tugu, a historic Portuguese-influenced neighborhood in North Jakarta. Koja contains the eastern section of Tanjung Priok Port (which contains the Container Terminal 1, Container Terminal 3, and Koja Container Terminal), Jakarta's main port. The Sunter Canal flows to the sea via Koja, its outlet lies on the boundary between Koja District and Cilincing District. Mardijker People
The Mardijker people refer to an ethnic community in the Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia) made up of descendants of freed slaves who spoke or were culturally Portuguese. They could be found at all major trading posts in the East Indies. They were mostly Christian, of various ethnicities from conquered Portuguese and Spanish territories, Some are of European ethnicity, while some others are natives from various Portuguese controlled territories. They spoke Mardijker Creole, a Portuguese-based creole, which has influenced the modern Indonesian language. Jakarta Islamic Centre (''JIC'') is a center for Islamic studies and research in Koja, Jakarta, Indonesia. Activities of JIC include ZISWAF empowerment, education (TPA, Madrasah, Community Learning Center), socio-economic activities (mosque cooperatives), regular recitations, Tabligh Akbar, and celebrations of Islamic holidays. Sutiyoso
Sutiyoso (born 6 December 1944), nicknamed Bang Yos, is an Indonesian politician and former general. He was Head of the State Intelligence Agency from 2015 to 2016, and was previously Governor of Jakarta from 1997 to 2007. Born in Semarang, Sutiyoso dropped out of university to join the Indonesian Military Academy and graduated in 1968. He joined the Kopassus special forces unit as a military intelligence officer, seeing action in Kalimantan against the North Kalimantan Communist Party, East Timor against FRETILIN, and Aceh against the Free Aceh Movement. He had become deputy commander of the unit by 1988. He then commanded regular military units, becoming Jakarta's military region Kodam Jaya's commander by 1996. Ali Sadikin
Ali Sadikin (7 July 1926 – 20 May 2008) was an Indonesian politician who served as the fourth governor of Jakarta from 1966 until 1977. Prior to becoming governor, he served as Minister of Transportation from 1963 until 1966 and Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs from 1964 until 1966. He also served as Chairman of the Football Association of Indonesia from 1977 until 1981. Born to parents of ethnic- Sundanese descent, Ali attended the Semarang Shipping Science Polytechnic during the Japanese occupation period.
