Kodjupet
Kodjupet is a strait in Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago. Along with the , it is one of two shipping routes connecting the open sea to the city of Stockholm, passing either side of the island of Rindö. Today the Kodjupet is suitable only for smaller vessels, due to its narrow and twisting nature together with a minimum water depth of , but it was formerly the principal route for commercial and naval ships. It passes close offshore of the town of Vaxholm. Although winding in nature, the strait runs broadly from north to south on its route from the sea to the city. It is flanked by the islands of Resarö, Edholma and Vaxön to the west, and Stegesund-Hästholmen, Skarpö and Rindö to the east. The very narrow Stegesundet strait provides a short-cut to the northern part of the Kodjupet strait, passing between the islands of Stegesund-Hästholmen and Skarpö. Vaxholm is a city, urban area and the seat of Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It occupies the islands of Vaxön and Kullö in the Stockholm archipelago. Vaxholm Fortress (), also known as Vaxholm Castle, is a historic fortification on the island of Vaxholmen in the Stockholm archipelago just east of the Swedish town of Vaxholm. It is home to the . Edholma
Edholma is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated to the north of the island of Vaxön, to the south of the island of Resarö, to the east of the island of Kullö, and to the west of the Kodjupet strait. Administratively, it is in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The island has approximately 100 holiday homes and five permanent residences. Edholma has no road connection to the mainland or other islands. It is served throughout the year by passenger ships of the ''Waxholmsbolaget'', which call at a pier on the eastern end of the island, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city. Stegesund-Hästholmen
Stegesund-Hästholmen is an island, sometimes considered a pair of islands, in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. Stegesund-Hästholmen is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. Hästholmen (to the west) and Stegesund (to the east) are separated by an artificial channel, constructed in 1899, and connected by a bridge. The island has a permanent population of about 20 people. To the north, west and south, Stegesund-Hästholmen is separated from the islands of Resarö, Edholma and Vaxön by the winding northern section of the Kodjupet strait, whilst to the east it is separated from the island of Skarpö by the much narrower Stegesundet strait. Vaxön
Vaxön is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. Until 2020, the urban area of Vaxholm, as defined by Statistics Sweden, was entirely contained within the island of Vaxön. However in that year, the adjacent island of Kullö was redefined as part of the urban area. Vaxön is linked to the Swedish mainland by a series of road bridges, and the car ferry connects Vaxön to the island of Rindö across the Kodjupet strait. Stegesundet
Stegesundet is a very narrow strait in Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago. It separates the islands of Stegesund-Hästholmen (to the west) and Skarpö (to the east), and provides a shorter route than the section of the Kodjupet strait that passes to the west of Stegesund-Hästholmen. Kastellet Ferry
The Kastellet ferry (), also known as the Vaxholmen ferry, is a passenger cable ferry in Sweden's Stockholm archipelago. It connects the town of Vaxholm to Vaxholm Castle, situated on an islet in the middle of the Kodjupet strait between the town and the island of Rindö. At its town terminus, the ferry berths next to the quay used by the Waxholmsbolaget passenger ferries that link Vaxholm to central Stockholm and many other islands of the archipelago. The crossing is some in length and takes about 2 minutes. There are between two and four return crossings an hour, each of which conveys a maximum of 130 passengers.
