Kochaj Albo Rzuć
''Kochaj albo rzuć'' (''Love or leave'') is a 1977 Polish comedy film directed by Sylwester Chęciński. It is the third and final part of a trilogy about two quarreling peasants Kargul and Pawlak, which started with ''Sami swoi'' (All Friends Here or Our Folks; literally "only our own") (1967) and was followed by '' Nie ma mocnych'' (a Polish idiom meaning "no one can do") (1974). Plot Kazimierz Pawlak and Władysław Kargul, two elderly peasants from Polish conservative countryside, and their granddaughter Ania receive an invitation to visit the United States of America from Kazimierz' brother John. They begin their travels on the ship TSS Stefan Batory, and end it on a United Airline Flight to the O'Hare airport in Chicago. After arriving in Chicago, it is revealed that John died a few days earlier, leaving behind not only his fortune but also an illegitimate daughter. Sylwester Chęciński
Sylwester Chęciński (21 May 1930 – 8 December 2021) was a Polish film and television director. He was born in Susiec, Poland, on 21 May 1930. Chęciński died in Wrocław on 8 December 2021, at the age of 91. Biography Chęciński was born on 21 May 1930 in Skwarki, Lublin Voivodeship. In 1950, he graduated from the 1st Secondary School of General Education named after Jędrzej Śniadeckiego in Dzierżoniów, and in 1956 the Directing Department of the State Film School in Łódź. He is best known for the trilogy Sami swoi, Nie ma mocnych and Kochaj albo rzuć. He directed his first film ''Historia żółtej ciżemki'' in 1961. From 1976 to 1980, he was the deputy artistic director of the film group "Iluzjon", and in the years 1988–1991 the deputy artistic director of the film group "Kadr". Andrzej Wasilewicz (10 March 1951 – 13 December 2016) was a Polish stage and film actor, and film director. Wasilewicz was born in Białogard in 1951. In 1975, he graduated from PWST in Warsaw. His first major film role came in 1974—as Zenek, Ania's fiancé—in the film '' Nie ma mocnych''. Since the 1980s he lived in the U.S. and studied at the Columbia University. Wasilewicz had suffered from Parkinson's disease and died from the disease on December 13, 2016, at a hospital on Long Island, New York. He was 65. Władysław Hańcza (18 May 1905 – 19 November 1977) was a Polish actor and theatre director. Education and debut In 1924, he graduated high school in his hometown of Łódź. Afterwards he studied philosophy and Polish philology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, University of Poznań. In 1927, he made his actor debut in a theater in Poznań. Career He performed in theatres in Poznań, Katowice, Toruń and Łódź, before he joined the National Theatre, Warsaw, National Theatre in Warsaw in 1939.
