Kingdom Of Andrantsay
Andratsay was a kingdom in the region of Vakinankaratra in central Madagascar. It is named after the river of Andrantsay near Betafo. History The kingdom of Andrantsay was founded in the 1600s by Andrianony from Alasora, a contemporary of Andriamasinavalona. He built the kingdom by uniting the original inhabitants of the region and migrants from Imerina. During the 18th century, the kingdom became a vassal of Kingdom of Menabe, Menabe and many migrants from the West integrated into the kingdom as well as refugees from Imerina kingdoms during the Imerina civil wars. The kingdom is the first inland malagasy kingdom to be documented when the French traveller Nicolas Mayeur reported his time there in his work ''Voyage au pays d'Ancove''. In the late 1790s it was annexed into Merina kingdom, Imerina kingdom as part of the Imerina enin-toko under the name of ''Vakinankaratra''. Itasy
Itasy is a region in central Madagascar. It borders Analamanga region in northeast, Vakinankaratra in south and Bongolava in northwest. The capital of the region is Miarinarivo, and the population was 897,962 in 2018. It is the smallest of all the 22 regions in area with , and is the most densely populated region after Analamanga. The Kingdom of Merina, also known as the Kingdom of Madagascar and officially the Kingdom of Imerina (; –1897), was a pre-colonial state off the coast of Southeast Africa that, by the 18th century, dominated most of what is now Madagascar. It spread outward from Imerina, the Central Highlands region primarily inhabited by the Merina ethnic group with a spiritual capital at Ambohimanga and a political capital west at Antananarivo, currently the seat of government for the modern state of Madagascar. Andriamasinavalona
Andriamasinavalona (1675–1710), also known as Andrianjakanavalondambo, was a King of Imerina in the central highlands of Madagascar. He made significant and enduring contributions to the social, political and economic life of Imerina. Chief among these was the expansion of his territories and the pacification and unification of certain principalities that had become locked in violent conflict; Andriamasinavalona established and ruled over the largest extent of the Kingdom of Imerina. He gave the name of Antananarivo to the capital city that was rapidly expanding around the royal palace on the hill of Analamanga, created a large public square at Andohalo outside the gates of the city, and named a series of other locations within the city. Tatamarina Lake in Betafo Betafo ("many roofs") is a town and urban municipality in Vakinankaratra Region in the Central Highlands of Madagascar. It is surrounded by volcanic peaks and is situated 22 km from Antsirabe. It is a typical Merina town in the Central Highlands. The town had an estimated population of 34,336 in 2018 and is the administrative centre of Betafo District.
