Heryanto Arbi
Michael Ludwig Hariyanto Arbi (born 21 January 1972) is a former badminton player from Indonesia who rated among the world's top few singles players in the 1990s. He is the younger brother of Eddy Hartono and Hastomo, who were also world class badminton players. Career The hard smashing Arbi was arguably the most internationally successful of an impressive cadre of Indonesian singles players who were his contemporaries. These included Ardy Wiranata, Joko Suprianto, Alan Budikusuma, Hermawan Susanto, and Hendrawan. Curiously he never won the open singles title of Indonesia which Wiranata dominated in the nineties. This and the Olympic gold medal were about the only prizes that eluded him after eliminated in the bronze medal match in 1996. Heriyanto, also known as Aa Jimmy (15 January 1983 – 22 December 2018), was an Indonesian actor and comedian. Biography Heriyanto was of Sundanese-Arab-Betawi blood. He was familiarly called Argo and was more widely known as Aa Jimmy, because his face resembled that of Abdullah Gymnastiar Yan Gymnastiar (born January 29, 1962), better known as Abdullah Gymnastiar or Aa Gym (lit: elder brother Gym), is an Indonesian Islamic preacher, singer, author, businessman and founder of the Da'arut Tauhiid Pondok Pesantren in Bandung. PB Djarum is an Indonesian badminton club in Kudus, Central Java. The club was founded at the Djarum ''brak'' (cigarette factory) located at Jl. Bitingan Lama (now called Jl. Lukmonohadi) No. 35 in Kudus in 1969. Djarum's CEO, Budi Hartono, encouraged the use of an on-site badminton court among his employees. A young athlete, Liem Swie King, played well, leading Budi Hartono to seriously develop the Kudus community's activities into the PB Djarum organization. PB Djarum's name gained recognition when Indonesia won the Thomas Cup in 1984 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Liem Swie King (; born 28 February 1956) is an Indonesian former badminton player who excelled from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. He won the All England in 1978, 1979 and 1981. He was one of the world's leading singles players of his era. A world level player in men's doubles as well as men's singles, he was known for the ferocity of his jumping smash. Early life Liem was born on 28 February 1956 in Kudus Regency, Central Java. His parents were Ng Thian Poo and Oei See Moi from Putian, Fujian. He was the only son of eight children. A shuttlecock (also called a birdie or shuttle) is a high-drag projectile used in the sport of badminton. It has an open conical shape formed by feathers or plastic (or a synthetic alternative) embedded into a rounded cork (or rubber) base.
