Killing Of Health Workers In The Gaza War
Many health workers have been killed during attacks on medical facilities and medical transport in the Gaza war. Although the injuries happened both on the Israeli side and on the Palestinian side, most of these attacks were carried out by Israeli forces against Palestinians. By 23 November 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) had documented 178 health attacks in the Gaza Strip that resulted in the death or injury of healthcare workers on duty. March 2025 Rafah Humanitarian Convoy Attacks
On 23 March 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked several humanitarian vehicles, including five ambulances, a fire truck, and a United Nations vehicle, in Al-Hashashin area in southern Rafah, Gaza Strip. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 15 aid workers, including eight members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, five civil defense, and one UN agency employee. It was not until 30 March that most of the missing bodies were retrieved from a mass grave in Rafah, although one ambulance officer remains missing. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) condemned the attacks, stating that they were the "single most deadly" for its workers in almost a decade. Killing Of Hind Rajab
Hind Rajab ( ar, هند رجب; 2017/2018 – 29 January 2024) was a six-year-old Palestinian girl in the Gaza Strip who was killed by Israeli forces (IDF), during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. The IDF also killed six of her family members and two paramedics coming for her rescue. Rajab and her family were fleeing Gaza City when their vehicle was shelled, killing her uncle, aunt and three cousins, except for Rajab and another cousin who contacted the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to ask for help while noting that they were being attacked by an Israeli tank. The cousin was later also killed and Rajab was left stranded in the vehicle for hours on the phone, as paramedics from PRCS attempted to rescue her. Adnan Al-Bursh
Adnan Al-Bursh ( ar, عدنان البرش, ʿAdnān al-Bursh; 17 September 1974 19 April 2024) was a Palestinian orthopedic surgeon and the head of orthopedics at the Gaza Strip's largest medical facility, Al-Shifa Hospital. He died after having been reportedly tortured in Israeli prison after four months of detention during the Israel–Hamas war. Adnan Al-Bursh was born in 1974 in Jabalia, the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip, and received his early education there before traveling to Romania to study medicine. Al-Bursh was married and had five children. He also served as an adviser to the Palestine national football team. Deir al-Balah or Deir al Balah ( ar, دير البلح, , Monastery of the Date Palm) is a Palestinian city in the central Gaza Strip and the administrative capital of the Deir el-Balah Governorate. It is located over south of Gaza City. The city had a population of 54,439 in 2007. The mosque in Deir al-Balah which bears his name is traditionally believed by locals to contain his tomb. Al-Awda Hospital is a hospital in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The hospital provides basic medical care, with an emergency room and obstetric services for women in the northern Gaza Strip. The hospital has the largest delivery room in the district and is the only one that provides fluoroscopy services.
