Killing Of Hind Rajab
Hind Rajab ( ar, هند رجب; 2017/2018 – 29 January 2024) was a six-year-old Palestinian girl in the Gaza Strip who was killed by Israeli forces (IDF), during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. The IDF also killed six of her family members and two paramedics coming for her rescue. Rajab and her family were fleeing Gaza City when their vehicle was shelled, killing her uncle, aunt and three cousins, except for Rajab and another cousin who contacted the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to ask for help while noting that they were being attacked by an Israeli tank. The cousin was later also killed and Rajab was left stranded in the vehicle for hours on the phone, as paramedics from PRCS attempted to rescue her. Healthcare in the State of Palestine refers to the governmental and private healthcare providers to which residents in the claimed territory have access. Since 1967, there have been improvements in the access to healthcare and the overall general health conditions for residents. The Gaza Health Ministry is the government agency responsible for healthcare and medical services in the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian territories. It operates under the administration of the Hamas authority that has run the territory since 2007. During the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, concerns were raised regarding the accuracy of the ministry's casualty numbers.
