Killing For Revenge
''Killing for Revenge'' is the fourteenth studio album by American death metal band Six Feet Under, released on May 10, 2024 by Metal Blade Records. Background and recording The album was recorded in Badlands Recording, Denver, Colorado. In an interview with New Noise Magazine, Chris Barnes stated that he wrote the lyrics to the album collaboratively with Jack Owen, with the lyrical themes centred around violence and revenge leading to the album title. Barnes said, "It was really cool to challenge myself and make this really collaborative. Then when I was going back through and reading all the lyrics, I realized it was a revenge story: man against man, man against himself, man against nature. That was an interesting idea for me, so that’s where the title came from. I didn’t really plan on that, but that’s where the lyrics took me. Six Feet Under (band)
Six Feet Under is an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1993. The band is currently composed of founding vocalist Chris Barnes, bassist Jeff Hughell, drummer Marco Pitruzzella, and guitarists Ray Suhy and Jack Owen. It was originally a side project formed by Barnes with guitarist Allen West of Obituary, but became a full-time commitment after Barnes was dismissed from Cannibal Corpse in 1995. Jack Owen
Jack Owen (born December 6, 1967) is an American musician and guitarist of the death metal band Six Feet Under. He was one of the founding members of Cannibal Corpse. He also had a stint with Deicide—another influential and long-running Florida death metal band—with whom he recorded four albums. In 2007, Owen played shows with Adrift before joining Order of Ennead at times when their guitarist, John Li, was unavailable. Musical career Owen recalls a cassette dub of Kiss' album Alive is what initially got him into heavy metal music and playing guitar. He experimented on his father's acoustic guitar before ultimately purchasing his own. Owen was originally in a band called Beyond Death with Alex Webster before forming Cannibal Corpse. Vincent Locke () is an American comic book artist known for his work on '' Deadworld'' and ''A History of Violence'' and for his ultraviolent album covers for death metal band Cannibal Corpse. Brian Slagel (born February 14, 1961) is an American music executive. He is the founder and CEO of the independent record label Metal Blade Records. Chris Barnes (born December 29, 1967) is an American death metal vocalist, lyricist and producer who currently serves as the frontman of Six Feet Under. Artistically, he is noted for his low guttural vocals and explicitly violent lyrics. Barnes was the co-founder and original lead vocalist and lyricist of Cannibal Corpse, staying with the band from 1988 to 1995.
