Killian Doyle
Killian Doyle (born 18 April 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward with the Westmeath senior team. Born in Raharney, County Westmeath, Doyle developed as a hurler during his secondary schooling at St. Joseph's Secondary School in Rochfortbridge. Here he was an All-Ireland runner-up in 2012. Doyle simultaneously made his first appearances for the Raharney club at underage levels, before winning county senior championship medals in 2014 and 2016. Doyle made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he was selected for the Westmeath minor team. He enjoyed four championship seasons with the minor team. Doyle subsequently joined the Westmeath under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 2016 league. On 8 September 2022, Doyle was nominated for a '' PwC All-Star'' award, Westmeath's first hurling nomination since 1986 when David Kilcoyne won their first and only All-Star. Raharney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Raharney in County Westmeath, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. History Raharney has won 15 Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship and 2 Westmeath Intermediate Hurling Championship. David Kilcoyne (hurler)
David Kilcoyne is a former hurler from County Westmeath, Ireland. He won Westmeath's first ever All Star Award in Football or Hurling in 1986. He won All-Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship medals in 1985 and 1991, and a Walsh Cup in 1982. Raharney Hurlers
Raharney () is a village in east County Westmeath, Ireland. It had a population of 221 according to the 2016 census. Raharney is on the R156 road about from Mullingar and about 67 km from Dublin. It is in the parish of Killucan; the village of Killucan is a further west. Geography The village of Raharney has a bridge over the River Deel and is the last settlement of the county on the edge of bogland that separates Westmeath from County Meath. The bridge links the roads that run north–south alongside the River Deel on one side and alongside the bog on the other (road from Delvin and on through Riverdale). The River Deel is a tributary of the Boyne. The roads into the village all slope down towards the river, suggesting that before the bridge was built there was a ford at this point. 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup
The 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup was the fourth staging of the Joe McDonagh Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2018 Joe McDonagh Cup, 2018. The competition, which was delayed for a second successive year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, began on 26 June 2021. The fixtures were published on 21 April 2021.
