Khurda Road Junction Railway Station
Khurda Road is One of the Most Important railway junction station of East Coast Railway Zone in the Indian state of Odisha. The actual name of the City is Jatani, which is also known as Khurda Road. History From 1893 to 1896, of East Coast State Railway was built and opened to traffic. It necessitated construction of some of the largest bridges across rivers like the Subarnarekha, Brahmani, Baitarani, Mahanadi, Kathajodi, Kuakhai and Birupa. Bengal Nagpur Railway's line to Cuttack was opened on 1 January 1899. The Khurda Road–Puri section was opened to traffic on 1 February 1897. Kuakhai River
Kuakhai River is a distributary of Mahanadi River which flows by Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Mahanadi River branches off at Naraj, Cuttack as Kathajodi River, then immediately it is bifurcated, with its southern branch flowing as Kuakhai River. The Kushabhadra River branches off from the Kuakhai River in Gandarpur, Balianta and flows in a south-western direction towards Nimapara and Gop into the Bay of Bengal. Kathajodi River
Kathajodi River is an arm of the Mahanadi River in Odisha, India. It branches off at Naraj, then immediately is bifurcated. The southern branch, known as Kuakhai, which means ''Crow's pool'', flows into the Puri district. Its mouth is closed by a bar, so that little water flows into it except at flood times. A little further down from Cuttack the Kathajodi is bifurcated. The right branch is the ''Sidhua'' and the left branch the ''Khatajodi''. After flowing divided for 17 km the Khatajodi and Sidhua merge. The merger area is known as Odisha famous Dalei Ghai. Baitarani River
The Baitarani (also spelled Vaitarani) is one of six major rivers of Odisha, India. Venerated in popular epics and legends, the Baitarani River is a source of water for agricultural irrigation. The coastal plain of Odisha has the name of "Hexadeltaic region" or the "Gift of Six Rivers". These deltas divide the coastal plain into three regions from north to south. The Baitarani, the Mahanadi and the Brahmani rivers form the Middle Coastal Plain, with evidence of past "back bays" and present lakes.
