''Khatarnak'' () is a 2000 Indian Marathi-language action comedy film directed by Mahesh Kothare and produced by Vidya Bacchewar featuring Mahesh Kothare, Laxmikant Berde, Johnny Lever, Bharat Jadhav, Avinash Narkar, Nutan Jayant, Aarti Chandorkar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar in lead roles. The music is composed by Raamlaxman. Plot In a town plagued by mysterious murders every Amavasya, Inspector Pratap Tungare leads the investigation, with CID Inspector Mahesh Chaudhari's assistance. Tungare holds a grudge against criminal lawyer Advocate Potbhare, who has a history of defending Tungare's arrested suspects. Mahesh Ambar Kothare (Marathi pronunciation: əɦeːʃ koʈʰaːɾe born 28 September 1953) is an Indian film actor, director and producer of Marathi and Hindi films. Vinod Rathod (born 12 September 1962) is an Indian playback singer and dubbing voice actor who primarily sings in Hindi language films. Rathod is the son of late classical musician, Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod. Surekha Punekar is an Indian actress and folk artist known for her lavani performances. Punekar came from a financially poor family and worked as a maid to make ends meet. In her initial days as an artist, she performed in the various Tamasha troupes on the lavanis written by the well-known poet Bashir Momin Kavathekar. After performing in various Tamasha troupes, she started her own Tamasha troupe with her sister Lata Punekar with support from Baba Pathan and Momin Kavathekar.
