Kevin Brennan (comedian)
Kevin Brennan is an American retired stand-up comedian, podcaster, and writer. He is the host of the '' Kevin Loves Shuli'' podcast, and is best known for his work on ''Saturday Night Live'' ''Weekend Update'' in 1999 and 2000. Brennan was voted "Best Comedian" at the 2005 Aspen Comedy Festival and his half-hour stand-up special was featured on HBO that same year. He was featured on the 2007 cross-Canada Just for Laughs comedy tour and performed at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal in 2009. He was also a repeat panelist on '' Red Eye w/ Tom Shillue'' in 2016 and 2017. Early life Brennan was born in Chicago to an Irish Catholic family and has nine siblings. The Stand Comedy Club
The Stand Comedy Club is a chain of three stand-up comedy venues in the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Newcastle upon Tyne. History The Stand hosted its first regular club night on Thursday, 21 September 1995, in the small basement of W.J. Christie's Bar on the West Port in Edinburgh's Old Town. Seven people came and the total box office was £22. The founders, Tommy Sheppard and Jane Mackay, (along with working circuit comedians Gordon Brunton, Bill Dewar, Viv Gee and Reg Anderson) wanted to create a platform for emerging Scottish comedians, as well as a place for people who enjoyed comedy "that looks at the world from a slightly different perspective". Sheppard had lived in London in the early 80s at the time of the alternative comedy boom and had seen Julian Clary and Jo Brand when they were just starting out in small alternative circuit venues. The ''Zanesville Times Recorder'' is a daily newspaper based in Zanesville, Ohio, that serves Muskingum County. The newspaper is part of the USA Today Network. History On December 1, 1959, The Zanesville Times Recorder began printing 7-days a week, merging with The Zanesville Times Signal. In October 1970, The Zanesville Publishing Company, owned by the Littick Family sold the paper to the Thomson Newspaper Publishing Company of Chicago. Caroline's Comedy Hour
Carolines on Broadway was a venue for stand-up comedy situated at 750 Seventh Avenue, on Broadway between 49th and 50th Streets, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The club operated from 1981 to 2022. History Caroline Hirsch opened Carolines as a cabaret in the Chelsea neighborhood in 1981 with two friends. Hirsch advocated to make it a comedy club and booked Jay Leno as its first performer. In 1983, Paul Reubens performed at the club, helping the club grow in popularity. In 1987, Carolines moved to South Street Seaport where it became established as the country's top comedy venue. The Improv is a comedy club franchise. It was founded as a single venue in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City in 1963, and expanded into a chain of venues in the late 1970s. Open Mic
An open mic or open mike (shortened from "open microphone") is a live show at a venue such as a coffeehouse, nightclub, comedy club, strip club, or pub, often taking place at night (an open mic night), in which audience members may perform on stage whether they are amateurs or professionals, often for the first time or to promote an upcoming performance.
