Kettering Rugby Football Club (KRFC) is a rugby union club located in Waverley Road on the south side of Kettering, England. The 1st XV currently compete in Midlands Premier - a level 5 league in the English rugby union system - following their promotion as champions of Midlands 1 East at the end of the 2018-19 season. History The earliest available records indicate that the playing of rugby football in Kettering was initiated by the Rector of Barton Seagrave village in 1871. After a period of playing under Uppingham School, Uppingham Public School Rules the club formally adopted Rugby Football Union, RFU rules in 1875, quickly becoming a significant participant in both local community and the fast developing rugby scene in the East Midlands. In the early days games were played on a number of sites including farmers' fields and council owned grounds. Kettering is a market and industrial town in North Northamptonshire, England. It is located north of London and north-east of Northampton, west of the River Ise, a tributary of the River Nene. Midlands 2 East (South)
Midlands 2 East (South) is a level 7 English Rugby Union league and level 2 of the Midlands League, made up of teams from the southern part of the East Midlands region including sides from Bedfordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and occasionally Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire, who play home and away matches throughout the season. When this division began in 1992 it was known as Midlands East 1, until it was split into two regional divisions called Midlands 3 East (North) and Midlands 3 East (South) ahead of the 2000–01 season. Further restructuring of the Midlands leagues ahead of the 2009–10 season, led to the current name of Midlands 2 East (South). Promoted teams tend to move up to Midlands 1 East with the champions going up automatically and the runners up having to play a playoff against the runners up from Midlands 2 East (North) for their place. Connacht Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Connachta) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Wasps Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby until being suspended on 12 October 2022. On 17 October 2022 the club entered administration, resulting in relegation to the RFU Championship, and all staff being made redundant. They exited administration on 16 December 2022. Founded in 1867 as Wasps Football Club, from 1923 to 1996 they were based at Repton Avenue in Sudbury, London. The England national under-18 rugby union team is the under-18 team of the England national rugby union team in the sport of rugby union. History Under-18 became a recognised age-grade in European rugby in 2004. In June 2018, coach John Fletcher and Peter Walton left the backroom staff having joined the U18 set-up since 2008 from Newcastle Falcons.
