Kaljo Kiisk
Kaljo Kiisk (3 December 1925 – 20 September 2007) was a Soviet and Estonian actor, film director, screenwriter and politician. He was best known for his roles as from Spring (1969 film), ''Spring'' (), Summer (1976 film), ''Summer'' (''Suvi'') and Autumn (1990 film), ''Autumn'' (''Sügis''), film adaptations of Oskar Luts' novels, and as Johannes Saarepera from Eesti Televisioon, ETV's long-running ''Õnne 13''. His career spanned over half a century from 1953 to 2007. Early life Kiisk was born and raised in Vaivina. In 1944, aged 18, he served in the Anti-aircraft warfare, anti-aircraft unit of the 20th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Estonian), and took part in the Battle of Tannenberg Line. After World War II, he managed to obscure his military service from the Soviet re-occupation of the Baltic states (1944), Soviet occupiers. The Estonian Film Database (, abbreviated EFIS) is an electronic film database launched online in 2012. Its purpose is to thoroughly describe Estonian film heritage, to collect film information about Estonian films, their producers, content, themes, types and genres, directors, actors, and so on, and to make available as much information as possible related to these films and the Estonian film industry. The descriptions of the films are detailed with keywords, which makes it possible to search for information based on various content. The database was made public on December 12, 2012. As of the beginning of 2017, the database contained more than 16,200 full and partial records of films made in Estonia since 1912. Tallinnfilm () is the oldest surviving film studio in Estonia. It was founded as Estonian Culture Film in 1931, and was nationalized in 1940 after Estonia was integrated into the Soviet Union. During the first year of Soviet occcupation (1940–1941) ''Eesti Kultuurfilm'' was taken over by the Communist Party and renamed ''Kinokroonika Eesti Stuudio'' (the Estonian Newsreel Studio). In 1942 during the German occupation the studio was renamed ''Kinokroonika Tallinna Stuudio'' (the Tallinn Newsreel Studio) and then renamed again as ''Tallinna Kinostuudio'' (the Tallinn Film Studio) in 1947 by the Soviets. The Tallinn Film Studio was renamed ''Kunstiliste ja Kroonikafilmide Tallinna Kinostuudio'' (Tallinn Feature and Newsreel Film Studio) in 1954 and in 1963 was renamed again Tallinnfilm. Väino Aren
Väino Aren (11 August 1933 – 18 April 2023) was an Estonian ballet dancer, actor, and operetta singer. Career Born in Pala, Tartu County, Pala, Tartu County, Aren studied at Vanemuine Ballet Studio in Tartu. From 1953 until 1955, he studied at the Leningrad Choreographic School. In 1959 he graduated from Tallinn Choreographic School. From 1950 until 1971 (with pauses), he was ballet soloist at Estonia Theatre; from 1971 until 1975 operetta soloist and since 1978 a stage manager at Estonia Theatre. He also played in films and television series, such as his longstanding role as Kristjan Rosenkampf-Jägerfreund in the Eesti Televisioon drama series ''Õnne 13'' from 1993 until his death in 2023.
