Keris-class Patrol Craft
The ''Keris'' class is a series of patrol crafts designed and built for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The vessels meet the requirements of Malaysia's marine defense by providing the ability to counter low intensity combat such as anti-piracy and border patrol. Development A total of 18 ships in two subclasses were ordered from Vosper Ltd in the 1960s to 1970s. Four ships are still in service as of 2023. Some of the retired ships were handed over to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency. Major operation The ''Keris'' class was the oldest ships still in service in the RMN. Eastern Sabah Security Zone
The Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZONE) is a security zone in the Malaysian state of Sabah that was launched by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on 25 March 2013 following persistent Cross border attacks in Sabah, attacks by pirates and militants from the southern Philippines that occurred in the eastern part of Sabah especially after the 2013 Lahad Datu standoff. It includes the districts of Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Malaysia, Pitas, Beluran, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna and Tawau (including Kalabakan), which is neighbouring to the Philippines. The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) is the main enforcement authority for ESSZONE, chaired by Malay styles and titles#Datuk Seri, Datuk Seri Musa Aman. Gaya Island
Gaya Island () is a sizeable Malaysian island of 1,465 ha, just 10 minutes off Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and forms part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Gaya Island derived its name from the word "Gayo" which means ''big'' in both the Kadazandusun and Bajau languages and occupies an area of 15 km2 (3,700 acres) with an elevation of up to 300 metres. Several ridges rise more than 600 feet (180 m), peaking at 1,000 feet (300 m), along the backbone of Gaya Island. Gaya is the largest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, closest to downtown Kota Kinabalu (KK) and is covered with dense virgin, tropical forest. It has been a forest reserve since 1923. Mersing
Mersing (Terengganu Malay: ''Merecing'' or ''Ngesing'') is a town, mukim and the capital of Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. The town is located at the southern end of the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. As of 2010, the town has an estimated population of 70,894. Rawa Island
Rawa Island () is a coral island in Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. Nearby islands include Harimau Island, Harimau and Mensirip Island, Mensirip. "Rawa" is the local term for white doves, which are abundant in the island. Rawa is a relatively small island. There are no proper roads, only a few walkways. One side of the island is a beach covered with white sand, while the other side has a rocky vertical cliff. The water is clear. There are many sea and land creatures such as fishes, squids, jellyfish, octopuses, Malayan sea eagles, and reptiles. Blacktip reef sharks can be found feeding in the sea off rawa. Rawa's waters are home to an abundance of corals. There are two resorts on the island: Rawa Island Resort and Alang's Rawa. Kuraman Island
Kuraman Island (), alternative name Keraman Island, is an outlying island in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia located on the northern mouth of Brunei Bay. It is sparsely populated and is popular with expatriates, divers and those who travel between Labuan and Brunei. Its land area measures 147 hectares. Together with the much smaller islands Pulau Rusukan Besar and Pulau Rusukan Kecil it forms the Labuan Marine Park. The Perhentian Islands ( Malay: ''Kepulauan Perhentian''; Terengganu Malay: ''Perhentiang''; Kelantan-Pattani Malay: ''Perhentiey'') are a group of islands off the coast of Besut District, Terengganu, Malaysia. The two main islands are Perhentian Besar ("Greater Perhentian") and Perhentian Kecil ("Lesser Perhentian"). Payar Island () is an island in Kedah, Malaysia with a namesake marine park that offers protection for its diverse marine life. It is a snorkelling and diving site famous for its corals. The Payar Island Marine Park is situated in the northern part of the Strait of Malacca, south of Langkawi and encompasses the islands of Payar, Kaca and Lembu (east of Payar) and Segantang ( west of Payar) which are surrounded by coral reefs. Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park
The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park () comprises a group of five islands located between 3 and 8 km off Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. The park is spread over 4,929 hectares, two-thirds of which cover the sea. Before the Ice age, it formed part of the Crocker Range mass of sandstone and sedimentary rock on the mainland. However, about one million years ago, the melting ice brought about changes in the sea level and parts of the mainland were cut off by the sea to form the islands of Gaya, Sapi, Manukan, Mamutik and Sulug. Evidence of this can be seen from the exposed sandstone of the coastline forming the cliffs, caves, honeycombs and deep crevices.
