Kerala Sahitya Akademi
The Kerala Sahitya Akademi or Academy for Malayalam Literature is an autonomous body established to promote the Malayalam language and Malayalam literature, literature. It is situated in the city of Thrissur, Kerala in India. History The academy was inaugurated on 15 October 1956, by Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the former king of Travancore, in Thiruvananthapuram. It was shifted to its present location at City of Thrissur in September 1957. Though the Kerala Government provides the funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is autonomous according to its constitution. Bhagyalakshmi
Bhagyalakshmi (born 1 November 1961) is an Indian actress, activist, and dubbing artist. She works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. She has collaborated with several actresses from Malayalam industries as well as other south Indian languages including Shobana, Revathi, Urvashi, Soundarya, Tabu and Jyothika. Bhagyalakshmi's autobiography, ''Swarabhedangal,'' was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Biography and Autobiography. Career Bhagyalakshmi began dubbing for young performers at the age of ten, and debuted as an actress in '' Manassu'' (1973). She made her film dubbing debut in ''Aparathi'' (1977), and from 1978 to 1980 continued to dub films for child actors and supporting actress. She later rose to prominence in '' Kolilakkam'' (1981), in which she dubbed for Sumalatha. Her breakthrough came in the Malayalam film industry with '' Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu'' (1984). Ibrahim Vengara
Ibrahim Vengara is a Malayalam–language playwright from Kerala, India. He has written over 50 radio plays, 25 plays and 20 monologues. He was born on 1 August 1941 at Vengara in North Malabar as the son of Seythammadath Alikunji and Puthiya Veettil Kunjamina. His father died when he was barely three years old. He started his primary school education at Vengara Mappila Upper Primary School but the study ended in two years. Later, he learned to read and write Malayalam from an old age school, which was under the auspices of the Public Library, Taliparamba. At the age of 13, he left home. He travelled across India and did all kinds of jobs in different parts of the country. His relationship with theatre movement began in 1962.
