Kentucky's 17th Senatorial district is one of 38 districts in the Kentucky Senate. Stretching from Lexington, Kentucky, Lexington to the northern part of the state, it comprises the counties of Grant County, Kentucky, Grant, Scott County, Kentucky, Scott, and parts of Fayette County, Kentucky, Fayette and Kenton County, Kentucky, Kenton. It has been represented by Matt Nunn (politician), Matt Nunn (Republican Party (United States), R–Sadieville, Kentucky, Sadieville) since 2025. As of 2023, the district had a population of 127,003. The Reform Party of the United States of America (RPUSA), generally known as the Reform Party USA or the Reform Party, is a centrist political party in the United States. The party was founded in 1995 by Ross Perot. Perot believed Americans were disillusioned with the state of politics as being corrupt and unable to deal with vital issues. After he received 18.9 percent of the popular vote as an independent candidate in the 1992 presidential election, he founded the Reform Party and presented it as a viable alternative to Republicans and Democrats. Russell Coleman
Russell Coleman (born January 3, 1976) is an American attorney and politician who is currently serving as the 52nd Attorney General of Kentucky. He previously served as United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky from 2017 to 2021. Early life and career Coleman grew up in rural western Kentucky, having been raised in Graves, Daviess and Logan Counties, and graduated from Logan County High School. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kentucky. Coleman previously served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as legal counsel to United States Senator Mitch McConnell, and as the Briefing Coordinator to two U.S. Attorney's General at the U.S. Department of Justice. Michael Gene Adams (born March 27, 1976) is an American politician who is a member of the Republican Party. He is the secretary of state of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He succeeded Alison Lundergan Grimes on January 6, 2020. Early life and career Adams is from Paducah, Kentucky. He graduated from Reidland High School, the University of Louisville, and Harvard Law School. Adams was the first in his family to get a bachelor's degree and attended Harvard Law School on low-income aid. After law school, Adams served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge John G. Heyburn II, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
