Kenneth Anthony Wright
Kenneth Anthony Wright (East Tuddenham, 5 June 1899 – London, 15 January 1975) was a List of British classical composers, British composer and conducting, conductor. Life Wright studied mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Sheffield in Sheffield. As a technician he got a job with the British Broadcasting Corporation (British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC) and from 1922 to 1959 he was a member of the music department of the BBC in London. In 1922 he became the first director of the BBC in Manchester. From 1923 to 1930 he became personal assistant to Percy Pitt. From 1930 to 1937 he was the personal assistant to Adrian Boult, Sir Adrian Boult. He went on to conduct BBC orchestras, was Overseas Music Director (1940-3), Deputy Director Of Music (1944-7) and Acting Director in 1947 for a time after Victor Hely-Hutchinson, Victor Hely-Hutchinson's death, Artists' Manager (1948–51) and Head of TV Music from 1951 to 1959. Kenneth Dewayne Wright (born September 14, 1977) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Northwestern State Demons and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL draft. Kenneth Wright (born 1 August 1985) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a striker for Thorniewood United in the Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region. He has previously played in the Scottish Premier League for Motherwell. Career Wright started his career at local professional club Motherwell in 2002. At the time, the SPL club were giving a lot of young players an opportunity due to administration, forcing a number of cuts. This meant Wright would be one of the fortunate youth players given their chance. Kenneth W. Wright (born 1940) is a former race car driver and mechanic for, among other teams, Black American Racers, Inc. (BAR), the first African American auto racing team to acquire national sponsorship in the United States. Early years Wright's friendship with the Miller brothers—Dexter G. and Leonard W.—began at age five. His love of hot rods and race cars began in earnest at age 13, when Leonard would visit his community in a 1940 Ford hot rod convertible. Riding in the car and seeing the advanced modifications made to the motor, sparked Wright's interest in becoming a full-time automotive technician after graduating from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball from 1970 to 1974 for the Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees. Kenneth Lawrence Wright (16 May 1922 – 6 June 1994) was an English footballer who played as an inside-forward in the Football League for West Ham United. As an amateur, Wright played for Cambridge Town. He served with the Royal Air Force during World War II where he rose to the rank of Flight Lieutenant and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He played wartime football for West Ham United, making seven appearances in the Football League South between 1943 and 1945 (including a return of five goal in five games in the 1945–46 season). He signed professional forms with the east London club in 1946, making his official debut on 7 September 1946 in a 0–2 home defeat against Leicester City. Kenneth Irving Mackenzie Wright (6 September 1925 – 14 December 2019), better known as Ken Wright, was an Australian politician. Wright was born at Red Cliffs in September 1925 to Charles Kenneth Mackenzie Wright, a soldier settler and dried fruits grower, and Elsie Henshall. He attended local state schools, and then served in the RAAF as a pilot from 1943 to 1945. He worked as an estate agent and valuer.
