Kenneth Robinson (cricketer)
Kenneth Mark Lefebre Robinson (16 February 1897 – 9 January 1963) was an English first-class cricketer and Royal Navy officer. Robinson was born in Hampshire at South Stoneham in February 1897. He served in the Royal Navy in the First World War, during which he was promoted from the rank of midshipman to sub-lieutenant in December 1916. In the closing stages of the war, he was promoted from the rank of acting lieutenant to lieutenant in June 1918. He was later promoted to the rank of lieutenant commander in January 1926. The following year he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for the Royal Navy against the touring New Zealanders at Portsmouth in 1927. Batting twice in the match, he was dismissed for 13 runs in the Royal Navy first-innings by Bill Cunningham, while in their second-innings he was dismissed for a single run by Ernest Bernau. South Stoneham
South Stoneham was a manor in South Stoneham parish. It was also a hundred, Poor law union, sanitary district then rural district covering a larger area of south Hampshire, England close to Southampton. These last four South Stoneham divisions covered much of modern-day north Southampton suburbs and the Borough of Eastleigh. The manor house ( South Stoneham House) and parish church (St Mary) are in Swaythling. Southampton was a second manor, but took over from South Stoneham as a name in general use. Bill Cunningham (cricketer)
William Henry Ranger Cunningham (23 January 1900 – 29 November 1984) was a first-class cricketer in New Zealand from 1922 to 1931. A right-arm opening bowler and lower-order batsman, Cunningham made his first-class debut for Canterbury in the 1922–23 season. He took 15 wickets at an average of 17.46 in the three-match Plunket Shield season to lead the national averages, with best figures of 5 for 72 (8 for 145 in the match) in the victory over Wellington. In the first match of the 1924–25 season he took 6 for 33 against Auckland (8 for 51 in the match) to help Canterbury to victory by 342 runs. In the first innings of the next match, against Wellington, he came to the wicket at 184 for 8 and hit 33 not out to take the Canterbury total to 290, then took 5 for 83 in the first innings. Captain (Capt) is a senior officer rank of the Royal Navy. It ranks above commander and below commodore and has a NATO ranking code of OF-5.
