Kenneth Hume
Kenneth Hume (22 March 1926 – 25 June 1967) was a British filmmaker and manager known for being married to Shirley Bassey. Hume made the ballet film '' Mods and Rockers''. Although Hume was gay, he married Bassey in 1961. He divorced Bassey in the mid sixties citing Peter Finch and John McAulife as co-respondents. Hume also managed Bassey. Shirley Bassey
Dame Shirley Veronica Bassey (; born 8 January 1937) is a Welsh singer. Best known for her career longevity, powerful voice and recording the theme songs to three James Bond films, Bassey is widely regarded as one of the most popular vocalists in Britain. Born in Cardiff, Bassey began performing as a teenager in 1953. In 1959, she became the first Welsh person to gain a number-one single on the UK Singles Chart. In the following decades, Bassey amassed 27 Top 40 hits in the UK, including two number-ones. Mods And Rockers (film)
''Mods and Rockers'' is a 1964 British short film directed by Kenneth Hume and produced by Anglo-Amalgamated. It features the Western Theatre Ballet company based on their ballets "Mods and Rockers" and "Non-Stop". They also perform a dance to Beatles compositions. The songs were performed by The Cheynes who included Mick Fleetwood. The film was first released in theatres in December 1964. Production Rehearsals began on 13 July 1964 and filming began the following week at Twickenham Film Studios. US Release The film was released in US cinemas with two other films, ''Swinging UK'' and ''UK Swings Again,'' and titled ''Go-Go Big Beat''. This was despite Hume's legal attempt to prevent the film being released in this way. Peter Finch
Frederick George Peter Ingle Finch (28 September 191614 January 1977) was an English-Australian actor of theatre, film and radio. Born in London, he emigrated to Australia as a teenager and was raised in Sydney, where he worked in vaudeville and radio before becoming a star of Australian films. A sail is a tensile structure—which is made from fabric or other membrane materials—that uses wind power to propel sailing craft, including sailing ships, sailboats, Windsurfing, windsurfers, ice boats, and even land sailing, sail-powered land vehicles. Produced between 1953 and 1961, they are short films, originally made to support the main feature in a cinema double-bill. Each film focuses on a true crime case with names changed, and feature an introduction by the crime writer Edgar Lustgarten. The earlier films were produced by Alec C. Snowden, who was succeeded by Jack Greenwood. Directors included Ken Hughes and Montgomery Tully. The principal character in each film is a Detective Inspector, played by a variety of actors but most frequently by Russell Napier (usually portraying DI Duggan). ''I've Gotta Horse'' is Billy Fury's second hit feature film, a semi-autobiographical musical comedy that also features Amanda Barrie, Michael Medwin and Jon Pertwee and pop bands The Gamblers and The Bachelors. It also features Fury's own race horse, Anselmo, and several of his own dogs. Larry Parnes, Billy Fury's manager, co-wrote the original story and co-produced, while Kenneth Hume directed, co-produced and co-wrote the story, with musical direction by Mike Leander.
