Keith Richards Discography
Keith Richards is a British recording artist, most famous for his songwriting partnership with Mick Jagger, and their over-sixty-year tenure with their band the Rolling Stones. Richards has recorded and released three studio albums, one live album, one compilation album, and ten singles since 1978. Richards has primarily worked as a session player and producer outside of the Rolling Stones, having performed on dozens of other artists' records since 1969. He began his solo recording career in 1978 with the single "Run Rudolph Run", before releasing his debut album ten years later. On his solo albums, Richards' backing band is credited as the X-Pensive Winos, which most prominently features drummer Steve Jordan (who also serves as Richards' co-writer and co-producer), and also includes keyboardist Ivan Neville and guitarist Waddy Wachtel. Keith Richards (born 18 December 1943) is an English musician, songwriter, singer and record producer who is an original member, guitarist, secondary vocalist, and co-principal songwriter of the Rolling Stones. His songwriting partnership with the band's lead vocalist Mick Jagger is one of the most successful in history. His career spans over six decades, and his guitar playing style has been a trademark of the Rolling Stones throughout the band's career. "Take It So Hard" is the first single from Keith Richards' first solo record, ''Talk Is Cheap''. The long-time Rolling Stones guitarist recorded the record after bandmate Mick Jagger refused to tour in 1986 in support of the album '' Dirty Work''. The second song of the eleven track record, it is a powerful example of vocal rock harmonies and rhythmic guitar, piano and percussion syncopation, with an overlay of vocal tracks that bury the lyrics within the push and pull of the music. It received heavy airplay on US rock radio, reaching #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks. Recorded during a brief American tour, the only leg of shows, in support of ''Talk Is Cheap'' in late 1988, Richards is supported by a set of musicians and friends dubbed "The X-Pensive Winos".
