Keef Hartley Band
Keith "Keef" Hartley (8 April 1944 – 26 November 2011) was an English drummer and bandleader. He fronted his own band, known as the Keef Hartley Band or Keef Hartley's Big Band, and played at Woodstock. He was later a member of Dog Soldier, and variously worked with Rory Storm, the Artwoods and John Mayall. Biography Keith Hartley was born in Plungington, north-west Preston, Lancashire. Plungington
Plungington is a district of Preston, Lancashire, England, to the northwest of the city centre. Historically, it was an area of working-class terraced housing dating from the late 1880s. It was redeveloped by the Central Lancashire Development Corporation, into a mix of improved housing, new-built housing, and industrial units. The former school building became a local community centre. The local pub, The Plungington, underwent a substantial makeover in 2025. Plungington is a ward for elections to Preston City Council, electing three councillors. Emmanuel Church in Plungington is a grade II listed building but was closed for health and safety reasons in 2014. The congregation meets for worship in the adjacent community centre. Ringo Starr
Sir Richard Starkey (born 7 July 1940), known professionally as Ringo Starr, is an English musician, songwriter and actor who achieved international fame as the drummer for the Beatles. ''Woodstock'' is a 1970 American documentary film of the watershed counterculture Woodstock Festival which took place in August 1969 near Bethel, New York. The film was directed by Michael Wadleigh in his directional debut. Seven editors are credited, including Thelma Schoonmaker, Martin Scorsese, and Wadleigh. ''Woodstock'' was a great commercial and critical success. It received the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Schoonmaker was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, a rare distinction for a documentary. Dan Wallin and L. A. Johnson were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound. The Blues Alone
''The Blues Alone'' is a 1967 electric blues album recorded by John Mayall on which he recorded all the parts himself, with the exception of percussion which was provided by longtime collaborator Keef Hartley. The cover art and the original LP sleeve design are by John Mayall. Sleeve notes, including track notes, were written by noted DJ John Peel.
