Kayo Kitada
is a retired Japanese judoka. Kitada was born in Shirahama, Wakayama and began judo at the age of 10. She graduated from Nippon Sport Science University in 2001. In 2002, she participated Asian Games held in Busan and won a gold medal in the Extra Lightweight category. Kitada also won a gold medal at Paris Super World Cup, Otto World Cup Hamburg and other international championships but did not participate in the Olympic Games or World Championships mainly due to 7 times world champion Ryoko Tamura. World Judo Championships
The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year (except the years when the Olympics take place) by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. Team competitions have also been held since 1994. The men's championships began in 1956, though the format and periodicity of the championships have changed over time. Yoshida Dojo
is a Japanese gold-medalist judoka and retired mixed martial artist. He is a longtime veteran of Japan's PRIDE Fighting Championships, competing in the Middleweight (93kg) and Heavyweight divisions. He won gold at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games at 78 kg. Yoshida also had two famous fights with MMA pioneer Royce Gracie that resulted in a no-contest and a time-limit draw. Judo career Yoshida first came onto the judo scene at the 1991 World Judo Championships in Barcelona, taking third place at 78 kg.
