Kathmandu–Terai Expressway
Kathmandu–Terai Expressway, also known as ''Fast Track'', is an under construction road connecting Kathmandu and Nijgadh in southern Terai region of Nepal. The road is long, of which, is normal roads, is tunnel and is bridges. The expressway is being constructed by Nepal Army, originally scheduled to be completed by September 2021. The new set target date for completion is 2024. As of July 2021, 16.1% of the work has been completed. The consulting service for the construction is provided by Yooshin Engineering, a Korean firm. The most complicated section, including the tunnels and several bridges will be constructed by Chinese companies China State Construction Engineering and Poly Changda Engineering. Controversies In 2020, the Nepal Army had selected six international firms to provide consultation service for the project, however the process was stopped after a probe found that the selection criteria were leaked. Flag Of Nepal
The national flag of Nepal ( ne, नेपालको झण्डा) is the world's only List of non-rectangular flags, non-rectangular flag that acts as both the state flag and civil flag of a Sovereign state , sovereign country. The flag is a simplified combination of two single pennon, pennons (or pennants), known as a double-pennon. Its crimson red is the symbol of bravery and it also represents the color of the rhododendron, Nepal's national flower, while the blue border is the color of peace. Until 1962, the flag's emblems, both the sun and the crescent moon, had human faces, but they were removed to modernize the flag. The current flag was adopted on 16 December 1962, along with the formation of a new constitutional government. Nijgadh
Nijgadh (, officially Nijgadh Municipality), is a town and municipality in Nepal, located in Bara District of the Madhesh Province (previously Narayani Zone of Central Development Region). The total area of the municipality is 289.4 sq. km. The municipality was formed on 8 May 2014 (25 Baisakh 2071 BS) by merging Nijgadh VDC with Ratnapuri VDC and Bharatganj Singaul VDC. According to the preliminary report of 2021 Nepalese census, the population of the municipality is 36,591, the fifth highest in the district. It is located south of the capital, Kathmandu, and north of the district headquarter, Kalaiya. The Mahendra highway passes through the municipality. The Nepali Army ( ne, नेपाली सेना, translit=Nēpālī Sēnā), technically the Gorkhali Army ( ne, गोरखाली सेना, translit=Gōrakhālī Sēnā, label=none; see ''Gorkhas''), is the land service branch of the Nepali Armed Forces. The China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) () is the largest construction company in the world by revenue and the 8th largest general contractor in terms of overseas sales, as of 2020. The National Highway System of Nepal is the group of main roads in Nepal. Nijgadh International Airport
Nijgadh International Airport ( ne, निजगढ अन्तराष्ट्रीय विमानस्थल) is a proposed hub-airport, located in Kolhabi, directly to the south of Kathmandu, near the town of Nijgadh in Madhesh Federal Province, Nepal. It is targeted to be completed by 2025 with an estimated investment of US$6.7 billion. If constructed, it would be the largest airport in South Asia and the fourth largest airport in the world in terms of land area. The airport is intended to relieve expected capacity restraints at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. The Kathmandu–Terai Expressway is being constructed by Nepali Army to help connect the proposed airport and Kathmandu.
