Karmiotissa Polemidion FC
Karmiotissa Football Club (, ''Karmiotissa Polemidion'') is a Cypriot football club based in Pano Polemidia, Limassol. They currently compete in the Cypriot First Division. The club's colors are orange and white. The original home ground of the football team is the Community Stadium of Pano Polemidia. In the season 22-23 they mostly played in Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in Paphos.The club's name comes from the chapel of Virgin Mary Karmiotissa located in Pano Polemidia. Since 2023, Cypriot businessman Stavros Demosthenous owns the club. History Karmiotissa was founded in 1979, and initially played in the amateur leagues organised by STOK. Their first appearance in a CFA competition came in the 1986–87 season when the club competed in the Fourth Division. Ammochostos Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Larnaca, Cyprus. It is currently used mostly for Association football, football matches and is the temporary home ground of the refugee team from the occupied city of Famagusta, Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, Nea Salamis Famagusta. History The original home ground of Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, Nea Salamina FC was GSE Stadium in Famagusta, but due to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Turkish occupation of the town since 1974 they cannot use it. After that, Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, Nea Salamis FC moved, temporarily, to Larnaca and built their own stadium. The decision to build the stadium came in 1989. The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. Alexander Špoljarić (Greek: Αλεξάντερ Σπόλιαριτς; born 28 November 1995) is a Cypriot football goalkeeper who plays for Karmiotissa. It began on 29 October 2014 with the first round and concluded on 20 May 2015 with the final which was held at GSZ Stadium. The 2014–15 Cypriot Second Division was the 60th season of the Cypriot second-level football league and it began on 20 September 2014. There was a new league system in place with the eight teams of the B1 Division, merging with the eight teams of the B2 Division, creating a unified Second Division. The 2013–14 Cypriot Second Division was the 59th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. It began on 14 September 2013 and ended on 12 May 2014. There was a new league system in place with the league being split into a two tier system, Divisions B1 and B2.
