Karlaplansstudion
, called ''"Maxim"'' in English or ''The Maxim Theatre'', has been a popular private theatre at Karlaplan in central Stockholm, Sweden since the 1960s. Originally named the Karlaplansstudion, it was designed as a theatre for film screenings. The house was built in 1945–46 by architect Ernst Grönvall. It was originally used as a studio by Swedish Radio who aired the popular radio shows ''Karusellen'' (The Carousel) and ''Frukostklubben'' (The Breakfast Club) from there in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1963, The Beatles played their first gig outside of the United Kingdom and Germany there; the performance was included on the ''Anthology 1'' compilation album in 1995. In 1967 the studio was rebuilt into a theatre and movie theatre, but from the 1970s onwards has run exclusively as a theatre. Anthology 1
''Anthology 1'' is a compilation album of music by the Beatles, released on 20 November 1995 by Apple Records as part of ''The Beatles Anthology'' series. It features rarities, outtakes and live performances from the period 1958–64, including songs with original bass player Stuart Sutcliffe and drummer Pete Best. It is the first in a trilogy of albums with ''Anthology 2'' and ''Anthology 3'', all of which tie in with the televised special ''The Beatles Anthology (documentary), The Beatles Anthology''. It contains "Free as a Bird", the first new Beatles song in 25 years, which was released as a single two weeks after ''Anthology 1''. Theatre
Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers, usually actors to present experiences of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a Stage (theatre), stage. Karlaplan
Karlaplan is an open park-plaza area in Östermalm in central Stockholm, Sweden. History Lindhagenplanen was a general plan presented with a proposal for street regulation in Stockholm in 1866 by a committee headed by the lawyer and politician Albert Lindhagen (1823-1887). Construction of Karlaplan started in 1896. It was designed in the image of Place de l'Étoile in Paris. The plaza is named in honour of three Swedish kings: Karl X Gustav, Karl XI and Karl XII. In the late 1920s, plans proposed by architect Ragnar Hjorth (1887-1971) provided for with a circular basin and a fountain. In 1930, the large fountain basin was started, which is slightly recessed in relation to the surrounding street level. During World War I, planting was supplemented with chestnut and poplar trees while the park was also used to cultivate vegetables. Lill Lindfors
Maj Lillemor "Lill" Lindfors (born 12 May 1940) is a Swedish singer who has performed in Scandinavia since the 1960s. She and Svante Thuresson performed the song " Nygammal Vals" ("New, yet familiar waltz") as the Swedish entrants in the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest. Career Lindfors was born into a Swedish-speaking Finnish family in Helsinki, Finland, and she moved to Sweden with her family when she was eight years old. She made her debut as a revue actress in Uddevalla in 1960. The following year she made her first recording. In the most recent decades, Lindfors has been known in Scandinavia for her " one-woman shows" in which she mixes music with a lot of comedy. Magnus Härenstam
Johan Herbert Magnus Härenstam (19 June 1941 – 13 June 2015) was a Swedish television host, actor and comedian. Härenstam hosted the Swedish version of the game-show ''Jeopardy!'' for 14 years before being replaced by Adam Alsing. Härenstam is also known for hosting the children's TV-program '' Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter'' (with Brasse Brännström & Eva Remaeus), which was very popular and has been re-broadcast numerous times since it first aired. Härenstam participated in the music video for ABBA's hit song " When I Kissed the Teacher" where he played the teacher who got kissed by Agnetha Fältskog. Well known in Sweden for several decades, he was almost equally popular in Norway, having starred in the 1990s sitcom ', playing the Swedish boss of a Norwegian textile workshop.
