Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. MLB is composed of 30 total teams, divided equally between the National League (NL) and the American League (AL), with 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada. The NL and AL were formed in 1876 and 1901, respectively. Beginning in 1903, the two leagues signed the National Agreement and cooperated but remained legally separate entities until 2000, when they merged into a single organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball. MLB is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan. It is also included as one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. Alexander attended Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Florida. He signed a National Letter of Intent with Ball State University to play college baseball for the Ball State Cardinals. Stephen Michael Andrade (born February 6, 1978) is a former Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher who last played professionally in 2009. He is an alumnus of California State University, Stanislaus. Career Andrade made his Major League Baseball debut with the Kansas City Royals on May 1, , against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. He was designated for assignment by the Royals on June 10 a month after being optioned to the Triple-A Omaha Royals. He then joined the San Diego Padres organization, pitching for the Padres' Triple-A affiliate, the Portland Beavers. Scott Richard Anderson (born August 1, 1962) is a former professional Major League Baseball pitcher. He played for the Texas Rangers in , the Montreal Expos in , and the Kansas City Royals in . High school and college career Anderson played high school baseball at Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington. In 1980, he recorded 95 strikeouts, an earned run average (ERA) of only 0.69, and four shutouts. He was originally drafted in the 16th round of the 1980 Major League Baseball draft by the Oakland Athletics, but did not sign with them. Richard Arlen Anderson (born November 29, 1956) is an American former professional baseball pitcher and coach. He most recently served as the pitching coach for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Anderson attended the University of Washington, where he played college baseball for the Huskies in 1978. New York Mets Anderson was drafted in the 24th round of the 1978 Major League Baseball Draft out of the University of Washington by the New York Mets. Anderson would see mediocre results in the minors, finishing with a 60–51 record over parts of 11 minor league seasons, as he possessed only average stuff and struck out an extremely low average of 3.5 batters per nine innings. Nick Paul Anderson (born July 5, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. Career Amateur career Anderson attended Brainerd High School in Brainerd, Minnesota.
