Kanniyakumari is a Tamil Nadu assembly constituency located in Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha constituency in Kanniyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. The constituency is located in the southern corner of mainland India, comprising the popular tourist destination Kanniyakumari. In the 2011 election, it had 237,410 total number of voters, consisting of 120,372 males and 117,038 females. 1967 Madras Legislative Assembly Election
The fourth legislative assembly election of Madras State (later renamed as Tamil Nadu) was held in February 1967. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led coalition under the leadership of C.N. Annadurai won the election defeating the Indian National Congress (Congress). Anti-Hindi agitations of Tamil Nadu, Anti-Hindi agitations, the rising prices of essential commodities, and a shortage of rice were the dominant issues. K. 2011 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election
The Fourteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Results were released on 13 May 2011. 2006 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election
The thirteenth legislative assembly election, of Tamil Nadu was held on 8 May 2006. It was held for all 234 constituencies to elect the government in the state for the following five years. The votes were counted three days later on 11 May 2006 and all the results were out by the end of the day. The twelfth legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu was held on 10 May 2001. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-led front won the elections and its general secretary, J. The tenth legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu was held on 15 June 1991. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) – Indian National Congress (INC) alliance won the elections in a landslide manner and AIADMK general secretary J. The ninth legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu was held on 21 January 1989. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election and its leader M. Karunanidhi, became the Chief Minister. The eighth legislative assembly election for Tamil Nadu was held on 24 December 1984. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) won the election and its general secretary, incumbent M. G.
