Kamanaa
''Kamanaa'' is a 2024 Maldivian film directed by Hussain Munawwar. Co-produced by Ali Shaniz Mohamed and Hussain Munawwar under Kid Production and Saturn Production, the film stars Yoosuf Shafeeu, Mariyam Azza and Aminath Rashfa in pivotal roles. The story follows a happily married couple whose relationship is shattered when the husband undergoes a drastic transformation, while the wife battles to survive and protect her unborn child. The film was released on 27 August 2024. Upon release, the film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and was ultimately declared the highest-grossing film in the history of Maldivian cinema by the end of its theatrical run. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, director, producer, writer and editor. Regarded as one of the most successful figures in Maldivian cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient numerous accolades, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; holding the record for winning the most Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Hussain Munawwar
Hussain Munawwar (born 5 February 1998), commonly known as Kuda Foolhu is a Maldivian film director, cinematographer, producer and actor. Career In 2006, Munawwar starred as the character Kudafoolhu, a manipulative devil under the strict instructions of his master, in the first installment of Yoosuf Shafeeu-directed short film series, '' Vasvaas'' which proved to be a breakthrough for him with his humorous and child-friendly act. Mariyam Azza (born 20 April 1989) is a Maldivian film actress. She is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and younger sister to actress turned director Aishath Rishmy. Early life Born in Malé, Azza is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and the sister of actress Aishath Rishmy. Mohamed Rasheed (2 April 1964), professionally known as Dharaa Rasheed, is a Maldivian film actor, cinematographer, producer and director. Early life At the age of twelve, Rasheed along with his friends, Sodhiq and Kashima Ahmed Shakir, used to spend most of their times at his place, singing, playing table tennis and undertake Urdu classes. Rafiyath Rameeza
Rafiyath Rameeza (born 23 March 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Rafiyath Rameeza was born and raised in the "Rameez family" where several artists including Ali Rameez and Ibrahim Rameez were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. At the age of 12, while studying at Aminiya School, she competed in the Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition and continued to participate in the same competition for more years. Mohamed Abdul Ghanee
Mohamed Abdul Ghanee (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Theyravaa is a Maldivian singer and songwriter. Early life and career Born to a musical family, Ghanee had no interest in music even when his siblings spend their time in jamming and singing. While studying at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah, he participated in the Inter-house singing competition, on a request by his elder brother. His performance was well noted by judges and received several prizes.
