Kakababu
Kakababu, or Raja Roy Chowdhury, is a fictional adventurer created by Bengali people, Bengali author Sunil Gangopadhyay. The series debuted in the 1971 Puja issue of Anandamela, Anandamela magazine with ''Bhoyonkor Sundor'', and quickly became a hit among teenagers. The series continued for 33 years, resulting in over 36 adventure novels until the author's death in 2012. Main characters *Kakababu: Kakababu is the disabled former Director of the Archaeological Survey of India, whose real name is Raja Roychowdhury. He is from a migrated Bengali family. His family origin was from East Bengal. In one of the earlier stories, it is said that Kakababu lost one leg in a jeep accident in Afghanistan, several years ago, and walks with the help of a crutch. However, in "Kakababur Prothom Abhijan", it is revealed that Kakababu lost his leg when he jumped off a cliff to help his friend Kamal. Mishor Rohoshyo
''Mishar Rahasya'', marketed as ''Mishawr Rawhoshyo'', () is a 2013 Indian Bengali-language action-adventure film co-written and directed by Srijit Mukherji. Produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, the film is based on the 1984 novel of the same name by Sunil Gangopadhyay. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee as Kakababu and Aryann Bhowmik as Shontu, alongside an ensemble cast of Indraneil Sengupta, Rajit Kapoor, Rajesh Sharma, Swastika Mukherjee, Sujan Neel Mukherjee and Tridha Chowdhury. The plot revolves around a hieroglyphic trail that leads Kakababu and his nephew Shontu to Egypt and underneath a pyramid. Sunil Gangopadhyay or Sunil Ganguly (September 7, 1934 – October 23, 2012) was an Indian poet, novelist, short story writer, and critic. He played a key role in modernizing Bengali poetry and co-founded the 1953 Avant-garde, avant-grade poetry magazine ''Krittibas (magazine), Krittibas''. Widely regarded as one of the most prolific Bengali writers since Rabindranath Tagore, he has been called "the man who carried the modern consciousness of Bengal." ''Kakababu Here Gelen?'' () is a Bengali detective film of Kakababu series, released in 1995 under the banner of National Film Development Corporation. It is based on a detective novel of Sunil Gangopadhyay by the same name. The movie is a prequel to the 2001 Bengali movie '' Ek Tukro Chand'' directed by Pinaki Chaudhuri. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty ( is an Indian actor known for his work in theatre, films and television. He is best known for portraying iconic Bengali detective characters, Feluda, and Kakababu. Samit Bhanja
Samit Bhanja (; 2 January 1944 – 24 July 2003) was an Indian actor and director known for his work in the Bengali cinema. He was one of the most promising actors of his time, working in both Bengali and Hindi cinema. Early life Bhanja was born in Tamluk, Purba Medinipur in an affluent family, originally from Chandrakona, Ghatal to Pritimoy Bhanja and Shila Debi.
