Kacper Drozdowski
Kacper Drozdowski (born 14 May 1996) is a Polish chess player who holds the title of International Master. Biography Kacper Drozdowski learned to play chess at the age of five. He participated in the Polish Youth Chess Championships in different age groups, which have won five medals: three gold (in 2006 in U10 age group, in 2010 in U14 age group, in 2011 in U16 age group), silver (in 2012 in U18 age group) and bronze (in 2009 in U14 age group). In 2010, he won bronze medal with Jaworzno chess club ''JKSz MCKiS'' in Polish Youth Team Chess Championship. Kacper Drozdowski has successfully participated in Polish Youth Championships in blitz and fast chess. He is four-time Polish Youth Fast Chess Champion (in 2008 in U12 age group with time control 15 and 30 minutes for game, in 2011 in U16 age group, in 2014 in U18 age group). FIDE Titles
FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE (''Fédération Internationale des Échecs'') for outstanding performance. The highest such title is Grandmaster (GM). Titles generally require a combination of Elo rating and norms (performance benchmarks in competitions including other titled players). Fast chess, also known as Speed chess, is a type of chess in which each player is given less time to consider their moves than normal tournament time controls allow. Fast chess is subdivided, by decreasing time controls, into rapid chess, blitz chess, and bullet chess. Armageddon chess is a particular variation of fast chess in which different rules apply for each of the two players. The top ranked 2021 world rapid chess player is Magnus Carlsen from Norway, who is also the top ranked classical chess player. The European Youth Chess Championship is organized by the European Chess Union (ECU) in groups under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years old. Polish Chess Championship
Individual Polish Chess Championship is the most important Polish chess tournament, aiming at selecting the best chess players in Poland. Based on the results of the tournament (mainly), the Polish Chess Federation selects the national and subsequently the olympiad team. The first men's championship took place in 1926, and the first women's event in 1935, both in Warsaw. Between the First and the Second World War, four men's finals and two women's took place. After the Second World War, the tournament has taken part annually, with minor exceptions. In most cases, they are round-robin tournaments, where men's groups are of 14-16 players, while the women's are 12 to 14.
