Barmak Akram
Barmak Akram, ( fa, برمک اکرم) (born in 1966 in Kabul), is an Afghan filmmaker. Akram lives in Paris, where he studied fine arts. His first feature film, ''Kabuli Kid'' (2008), won several awards and has been shown at the Venice Film Festival. In 2013, he received the Best Screenplay award at the Sundance Film Festival for the film '' Wajma (An Afghan Love Story)''. Leena Alam (Persian: , born in Kabul, Afghanistan) is an Afghan film, television, and theater actress. She has appeared in films such as '' Kabuli Kid'', ''Black Kite'', ''Loori'', ''A Letter to the President'' and ''Hassan''. She is widely known to have worked on film and TV that speak of child marriage, gender inequality, women's rights and social conflicts.
