Ivan Yakovlev
Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev (, ) (, , today's Tatarstan - October 23, 1930, Moscow) was a Chuvash enlightener, educator, and writer. In 1875, Ivan Yakovlev was graduated from the Kazan University. While he was still a gymnasium student, he invested his own capital and private donations into the establishment of Simbirsk Chuvash School in 1868. Thanks to the efforts of Ilya Ulyanov (Vladimir Lenin's father), this school would be funded by the government starting 1871. In 1877, the school was transformed into Simbirsk Central Chuvash School. After his graduation from the university, Ivan Yakovlev worked as an inspector of Chuvash schools in the Kazan School District (until 1903) and headed the Chuvash School for Teachers (until October 1919). Mac OS Cyrillic is a character encoding used on Apple Macintosh computers to represent texts in the Cyrillic script. The original version lacked the letter Ґ, which is used in Ukrainian language, Ukrainian, although its use was limited during the Soviet era to regions outside Ukraine. KOI8-U
KOI8-U (RFC 2319) is an 8-bit character encoding, designed to cover Ukrainian, which uses a Cyrillic alphabet. It is based on KOI8-R, which covers Russian and Bulgarian, but replaces eight box drawing characters with four Ukrainian letters Ґ, Є, І, and Ї in both upper case and lower case. KOI8-R
KOI8-R (RFC 1489) is an 8-bit character encoding derived from the KOI-8 encoding by the programmer Andrei Chernov in 1993 and designed to cover Russian, which uses the Russian subset of a Cyrillic script. KOI-8, on its turn, is an 8-bit extension of the KOI-7 encoding, which inherited a phonetic correspondence of Russian and Latin letters from the MTK-2 teletype code.
