KYMCO
Kymco (an acronym for Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd ()) (stylized as ''KYMCO'') is a Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. With approximately 3000 employees, Kymco produces over 570,000 vehicles annually at its factory in Kaohsiung. The company also has production facilities in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and China, PR China. History The company was founded in 1964. KYMCO originally made parts for Honda. The company built its first complete scooter in 1970 and began marketing under the "KYMCO" brand name in 1992. In the 2000s, Kymco became the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan, and the fifth largest scooter manufacturer worldwide. In early 2008, KYMCO was chosen by BMW to supply the engines for their G450 X Enduro bike. The optional range extender (vehicle), range extender in the BMW i3 is also supplied by Kymco. Kymco People
The Kymco People is a two-wheeled scooter from the Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco. History Designed by Massimo Zaniboni, director of Italian style centre Arkema Studio, the People was Kymco's first compact Scooter (motorcycle), scooter with "high wheels" intended primarily for the European market competing with Scarabeo, Aprilia Scarabeo, Piaggio Liberty, Malaguti Ciak and Honda SH150i, Honda SH. It was presented at the Munich Intermot in 1998 and from the first months of 1999 it was put on sale in the main European markets. It is equipped with three engines: a two-stroke with 50 cm3 of displacement or a four-stroke engine of 125 cm3 and 150 cm3. The cooling system is air-forced and has an electric start and kick starter. The colors available are: black, silver, anthracite, blue, gray, orange and red. Kymco Quannon
The Quannon (known as KR Sport in some countries) is Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer Kymco's competitor to the 125 cc sports bike segment, a segment it shares with Honda's CBR125R. Engine The engine in the Quannon is an improved version of the one featured in the Kymco Zing II. Being that the Zing is a cruiser-type bike, the engine had to undergo several modifications to fit a bike that intended to compete in the sports bike segment. The Quannon engine was thus fitted with a chain-driven overhead camshaft driving four valves instead of the pushrods that activated the two valves in the Zing's cylinder. This, together with various modifications to the ignition, exhaust and distribution system, increased the engine's power output by a little over 2 HP (from 10.8 HP in the Zing). Kymco AK550
The Kymco AK550 is a scooter produced by Taiwanese Kwang Yang Motor Company under the Kymco brand since 2017.
