KML All-Star Five () is an award for the top-tier professional basketball league in Estonia, the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins, but if regulation play expires with the score tied, an additional period of play (overtime) is mandated. Triobet/Dalkia
Triobet/Dalkia (also known as Nybit) was an Estonian professional basketball club founded in 1992 and dissolved in 2008. The club played in the Estonian Korvpalli Meistriliiga. The team won 1 Estonian Cup. The team played its home games at Audentes Sports Center. History Founded in 1992 as Dublant, the team changed its name to Nybit in 1993. In 1998, the team won the Estonian Basketball Cup. Nybit reached the Korvpalli Meistriliiga finals in the 1998–99 KML season and the 2003–04 KML season but failed to win the title. In 2007, the team changed its name to Triobet/Dalkia. The team was dissolved in 2008. Tarmo Kikerpill
Tarmo Kikerpill (born June 13, 1977) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player. He is 1.96 m (6ft 5in) in height and he played at the small forward or power forward position. Pro career Kikerpill started his professional basketball career in 1994 with Tartu Ülikool/Rock in the Estonian League. He won four Estonian League Championships with the team. In 2005, he moved abroad for the first time, joining the Polish League club Energy Czarn Slupsk. After a brief return to Tartu Ülikool/Rock for the 2006-2007 season, Kikerpill re-joined Energy Czarn Slupsk, where he spent the 2007-2008 season. In the summer of 2008, Kikerpill started playing with the famous Greek League club AEK Athens BC. After playing a year there, Kikerpill returned to Estonia to play for Valga/CKE Inkasso. Tanel Tein
Tanel Tein (born 10 January 1978) is an Estonian former professional basketball player. He was named Estonian Player of the Year in 2008. Tein played one season of college basketball for the St. Francis Terriers. Professional career Tein started his career playing for hometown team Tartu in 1993 and led them to two Estonian championships (2000, 2001) and three Estonian Cups (2000–2002). In July 2003, he signed with Śląsk Wrocław of the Polish Basketball League and the Euroleague, and won the Polish Cup in 2004. Tein subsequently played for Alba Berlin and Dynamo Moscow Region, before returning to University of Tartu in November 2005. He went on to win three more Estonian championships in 2007, 2008, 2010. Indrek Varblane (born 5 May 1968) is an Estonian basketball player. He was born in Tallinn. He has studied at Estonian Sports Gymnasium (TSIK). He began his basketball career at the age of 15, coached by Pearn Pressraud. Later his coaches were Üllar Kerde and Jaanus Levkoi. Andre Pärn (born 21 September 1977) is an Estonian former basketball player. Andre Pärn started his basketball career in hometown Asto at the age of 16. Next season he moved to Estonian powerhouse Kalev until 2000. During the time, he won multiple national championships and cups. After six seasons with Kalev, Pärn moved to Swedish Plannja Basket where he played a successful season. The same summer he was a member of the Estonia national basketball team which played in the EuroBasket 2001 competition. Following the tournament with Team Estonia, he had his last foreign spell in Belgium with Leuven Bears. Aivar Kuusmaa
Aivar Kuusmaa (born 12 June 1967) is an Estonian basketball coach and former professional basketball player who played mostly at the shooting guard position. He won the USSR Premier Basketball League in 1991 as a member of the Tallinn Kalev basketball team. Kuusmaa mostly played in Estonia, but he also spent three seasons in Greece, with Panathinaikos and one season in Belgium, with Liege Basket. Also, during the service in the Soviet Army, Kuusmaa was stationed in Latvian SSR and played in the local army sports club Rīgas ASK. After retiring in 2005 he has been coaching BC Kalev/Cramo (2005–2007 & 2010–2012), TTÜ KK (2007–2010) and AVIS Utilitas Rapla (2014–2018). Kuusmaa has also greek citizenship under the surname Magoulas. Elected to the Hall of fame of Estonian basketball in 2020.
