KGMX (106.3 FM, "K-Mix 106.3") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Lancaster, California and serves the Antelope Valley area. The station is owned by High Desert Broadcasting and broadcasts a top 40 (CHR) format. The station is simulcast on KMVE (106.9 FM) in California City, California. History The station first signed on October 28, 1970 as KOTE. Originally owned by Albert Medlinsky, it broadcast a middle of the road music format. KWG (AM)
KWG (1230 AM) is a radio station licensed to Relevant Radio, Inc. in Stockton, California. It carries that company's Catholic talk radio programming. History KWG is one of the oldest broadcasting stations in the United States. It was initially licensed to the Portable Wireless Telephone Company on December 7, 1921, as the second formally licensed broadcasting station west of the Mississippi River. In addition, it traces its history to an earlier amateur station operated by Paul Oard. Oard was the principal engineer for Oard Radio Laboratories, a small radio equipment company owned by George Turner and located at 1218 North Union Street in Stockton. The company's apparatus was sold through the Atlantic-Pacific Radio Supplies Company of San Francisco. Tracy, California
Tracy is the second most populated city in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 93,000 at the 2020 census. Tracy is located inside a geographic triangle formed by Interstate 205 on the north side of the city, Interstate 5 to the east, and Interstate 580 to the southwest. History Until the 1760s, the area that is now the city of Tracy was long populated by the Yokuts ethnic group of loosely associated bands of Native Americans and their ancestors.
