Kiz was a Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) band from Reutlingen. Founded by Joachim Gaiser, Ulrich Herter, Thomas Dörr, Chutichai Indrasen in 1982. Neue Deutsche Welle
Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW, , "New German Wave") is a genre of West German rock music originally derived from post-punk and new wave music with electronic influences. The term was first coined by Dutch radio DJ Frits Ritmeester on the popular nationwide radio station Hilversum 3, which was very popular among German listeners. Soon after that, the term was used in a record-shop advertisement by Burkhardt Seiler in an August 1979 issue of the West German magazine ''Sounds''. It was then used by journalist Alfred Hilsberg in an article about the movement titled ("New German Wave — From Grey Cities' Walls") in ''Sounds'' in October 1979. Reutlingen
Reutlingen (; ) is a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the capital of the eponymous Reutlingen (district), district of Reutlingen. As of June 2018, it had an estimated population of 116,456. Reutlingen has a Reutlingen University, university of applied sciences, which was founded in 1855, originally as a weavers' school. Today, Reutlingen is a home to an established textile industry and also houses machinery, leather goods and steel manufacturing facilities. It has the narrowest street in the world, Spreuerhofstraße (width 31 cm). Geography Reutlingen is located about south of the State capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart. Fools Garden
Fools Garden (known as Fool's Garden until 2003) is a German band formed in 1991 in the city of Pforzheim. The founders of the group and its only permanent members are vocalist Peter Freudenthaler and guitarist Volker Hinkel. In 1993, bassist Thomas Mangold, keyboardist Roland Röhl and drummer Ralf Wochele were invited to join Fool's Garden for the recording of their second studio album, '' Once in a Blue Moon''. The band became famous worldwide in 1995 owing to the release of their third studio album '' Dish of the Day'' and, in particular, the song " Lemon Tree", which entered numerous music charts around the world and topped five of them. However, Fool's Garden was never able to repeat the success of their only hit. Camouflage (band)
Camouflage is a German synth-pop trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn (b. May 2, 1966), Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. They achieved a Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit with "The Great Commandment (song), The Great Commandment", which reached number 59 in early 1989, and spent three weeks at number 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. They also had two minor dance hits in 1989. History In 1983, Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, Oliver Kreyssig, and Martin Kähling, four friends from Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, formed the band Licensed Technology. It was short-lived, as Kähling left in 1984. Soon after, the remaining three members renamed themselves "Camouflage", inspired by a Yellow Magic Orchestra song of the same name. Sandra Cretu
Sandra Ann Lauer (born 18 May 1962), later Sandra Cretu, commonly known mononymously as Sandra (), is a German pop singer who enjoyed mainstream popularity in the 1980s and early 1990s with a string of European hit singles, produced by her then-husband and musical partner, Michael Cretu, most notably " (I'll Never Be) Maria Magdalena" (1985), " In the Heat of the Night" (1985), " Everlasting Love" (1987), " Secret Land" (1988), "Hiroshima" (1990), and " Don't Be Aggressive" (1992). Hubert Kah is a German synthpop band, led by Hubert Kemmler (born 21 March 1961). Kemmler is a German musician, composer, songwriter and producer. Biography Kemmler's career began as a member of a trio named Hubert Kah, consisting of Hubert Kemmler (vocals, keyboards), Markus Löhr (guitars, keyboards) and Klaus Hirschburger (bass). It emerged in 1982 at the time of the Neue Deutsche Welle, New German wave and achieved commercial success with the singles "Rosemarie," "Sternenhimmel" and "Einmal Nur Mit Erika... (Dieser Welt Entfliehn)," and with the albums ''Meine Höhepunkte'' and ''Ich Komme''. During this time, Kemmler caused quite a stir by his TV appearances, wearing a nightdress or straitjacket.
