KHOC (102.5 FM, "Heart 102.5") is a commercial radio station located in Casper, Wyoming. All Mt. Rushmore Casper stations are located at 218 N. Wolcott in downtown Casper. History The station was first known as KKRR, starting on 1997-10-06. On 1998-10-23, the station changed its call sign to the current KHOC. Citing technical difficulties, the station, along with its five other sister stations went dark for a period of time in August 2011. KVOC, KMLD, and KHOC remained silent as of December 17, 2011. Other than equipment reasons, no further information as to why the three stations were off the air has been provided. Fines KHOC, along with other Casper stations owned by Mt. Rushmore Broadcasting were fined $68,000 for using unlicensed Studio/transmitter links, which the company had been using for 16 years. KMLD is a commercial radio station located in Casper, Wyoming, broadcasting on 94.5 FM. KMLD airs an oldies music format branded as "Melody 94.5". The music programming is syndicated by Cumulus Media and is the True Oldies Channel. All Mt. Rushmore Casper stations are located at 218 N. Wolcott in downtown Casper. History This station started at 97.3 FM in 1997, and was owned by Hart Media. The station was later sold along with the other Hart Media Stations to Mountain States Broadcasting. The station was sold once again when Clear Channel Communications bought Mountain States Broadcasting. The present owner is Mt. Rushmore Broadcasting. A short while after being bought by Mt. KVOC
KVOC is a commercial radio station licensed to Casper, Wyoming operating on 1230 kHz. History The station was started in 1946, and for a number of years was one of only three radio stations operating in Casper. KVOC was owned by Natrona Country Tribune. The station was bought by Harry and Alice Bubeck in 1964. The station remained under the ownership of one of the Bubecks until being sold to its current owner Mt. Rushmore Broadcasting in the late 1990s. After the sale Alice continued her ''Morning Magazine'' program on the station. KVOC started out with a middle of the road (music) format. KASS is a commercial radio station located in Casper, Wyoming, broadcasting on 106.9 FM. KASS airs a classic rock music format, branded as "Kick 107". Casper Mountain
Casper Mountain, an anticline, is located at the north end of the Laramie Mountains overlooking Casper, Wyoming along the North Platte River. At a top elevation of , the geological feature rises approximately above Casper. Recreation Casper Mountain is largely privately owned, however there are several miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. There are many recreation opportunities on the mountain. Hogadon Ski Area is one of very few ski areas with a parking/entry point located above the resort. Although small, the ski area provides a large source of winter entertainment on the mountain. Other winter activities include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, fatbiking, and snowmobiling.
