K.A.S. Eupen (short for Königliche Allgemeine Sportvereinigung Eupen, English: ''Royal General Sports Association Eupen'', simply referred to as Eupen) is a Belgian professional association football club located in Eupen, Liège (province), Province of Liège, which currently plays in the Challenger Pro League, the second tier of football in Belgium, Belgian football. The club was formed on 9 July 1945 through the merger of two older Eupen clubs, ''Jugend Eupen'' and ''FC Eupen 1920''. The club has been playing at the Kehrwegstadion in Eupen since its inaugural season. The Kehrwegstadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Eupen, Belgium. It is mainly used for association football, football matches and hosts the home matches of K.A.S. Eupen of the Belgian First Division. The stadium has a capacity of 8,363 as-eupen.be (last check 30 March 2018) of which 5,603 are seats and 2,760 are standing places. Jean Nicolay (27 December 1937 – 18 August 2014) was a Belgian Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. He earned the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1963 while at Standard Liège. He made 39 caps for the Belgium national football team, national team between 1959 and 1967, his debut being a 0–2 friendly defeat to Austria national football team, Austria on 24 May 1959.
