Jüri Liim
Jüri Liim (born on 9 November 1940 in Tallinn) is a former Estonian politician, investigative journalist and track and field athlete (long-distance runner). 1965-1976 he won several medals at Estonian championships. In 1990–1992 he was a member of parliament of Estonia (''Ülemnõukogu'') and Estonian Congress. He was one of the founders and leaders of Estonian Green Party ( et, Eesti Roheline Partei) (later Estonian Greens The Estonian Greens ( et, Erakond Eestimaa Rohelised, EER) is a green political party in Estonia. Tallinn
Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Estonian Congress
The Congress of Estonia (Estonian: ''Eesti Kongress'') was an innovative grassroots parliament established in Estonia in 1990–1992 as a part of the process of regaining of independence from the Soviet Union. It also challenged the power and authority of the pre-existing quasi-parliament in the country, called the Supreme Soviet of the Estonian SSR, which had been imposed on Estonia after the Soviet invasion, occupation and illegal annexation of Estonia in 1940. Estonian Greens
The Estonian Greens ( et, Erakond Eestimaa Rohelised, EER) is a green political party in Estonia. Founded in 2006, the party held six seats in the Riigikogu from 2007 to 2011. Its objective is to ensure that Estonia's development is environmentally friendly, sustainable, politically stable and economically efficient. History 1990s The Estonian Green Movement ( et, Eesti Roheline Liikumine) was founded by Juhan Aare in May 1988. Its chairman, forestry scientist Professor Toomas Frey, was Minister of the Environment from 1990 to 1991. The Estonian Green Party was founded on 19 August 1989. A rival Green Party, under the leadership of Vello Pohla, was founded in May 1990. After two years, the parties merged and the Estonian Greens (''Eesti Rohelised'') was founded in December 1991.
