Justin Sherman (born 26 January 1987) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited as the number 45 draft pick in the 2004 AFL draft from Clarence. He made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in round 4, 2005 against . In only his second season of AFL football, Sherman was voted runner-up in the Brisbane Lions best and fairest award. Sherman played primarily as a midfielder, but could also play in the forward pocket and short deep half-forward and half backline. The Clarence Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is an Australian rules football club playing in the Tasmanian State League, based in Bellerive, Tasmania. Before 1947, they existed as Bellerive Football Club. In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. It is similar to most valuable player (MVP) awards in other team sports. The Tasmanian State League (TSL), colloquially known as the Tasmanian Football League (TFL), was the highest-level Australian rules football competition in the state of Tasmania. It disbanded following the end of the 2024 TSL season, 2024 season in preparation for the Tasmania Football Club to enter the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2026.
