Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé
Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé (born 2 March 1956) is a Bolivian judge who briefly served as the 64th president of Bolivia from 2005 to 2006 on an interim basis following the resignation of President Carlos Mesa during the 2005 political crisis. Prior to his temporary role as president, he was the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bolivia. Background Born in Cochabamba in 1956, Rodríguez is a lawyer and holds a master's degree in public administration. He studied at Colegio San Agustín; later he studied law at the Universidad Mayor de San Simón in Cochabamba and obtained his Master of Public Administration at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Rodríguez was the Bolivian ambassador to the Netherlands where he also served as ambassador before the International Court of Justice. Maite Oronoz Rodríguez (born 1976) is a Puerto Rican jurist and chief justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Oronoz Rodríguez is Puerto Rico's first openly gay chief justice. Early years and education Oronoz Rodríguez earned her bachelor's degree in history at Villanova University, cum laude, where she was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. Later, she studied law at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude. She also earned an L.L.M. at Columbia University and has postgraduate studies in history from University of Puerto Rico, and history and literature courses from the University of Florence, Italy. Xavier Rodriguez (born September 20, 1961) is an American attorney and jurist serving as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Rodriguez was previously an associate justice of the Texas Supreme Court from 2001 to 2002. Early life and education Rodriguez was born in 1961 in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Harvard University, a Master of Public Administration degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas Law School.
