Jurjen Battjes
Jurjen Anno Battjes (born 22 February 1939) is a Dutch civil engineer. He was a professor of fluid dynamics at Delft University of Technology until his retirement in 2004. Battjes was elected an international member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2009 for international leadership, research, and teaching in coastal engineering and storm protection. Career Battjes was born on 22 February 1939 in Winschoten. He studied civil engineering at Delft University of Technology, earning his M.Sc in 1962. Battjes subsequently spent four years as an assistant professor at the Laboratory of Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida, in the United States. He started working as a professor at Delft University of Technology in the late 1960s, where he held the chair of fluid dynamics. Jurjen Bosch (born 14 December 1985) is a Dutch retired professional football player who played as a forward for Dutch club SC Cambuur. Club career In his younger years, he played for local soccer club Wykels Hallum. Bosch made his professional debut for Cambuur on 21 December 2007 in an Eerste Divisie match against Go Ahead Eagles. He was released by the club in 2009. He returned to amateur football after two seasons with Cambuur and played for Hoofdklasse club PKC'83 and Topklasse The Derde Divisie (; ), formerly known as Topklasse (; ), is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands, which had its inaugural season as a third tier in 2010–11 and as a fourth tier in 2016–17. Jurjen Ferdinand Koksma
Jurjen Ferdinand Koksma (21 April 1904, Schoterland – 17 December 1964, Amsterdam) was a Dutch mathematician who specialized in analytic number theory. Koksma received his Ph.D. degree (''cum laude'') in 1930 at the University of Groningen under supervision of Johannes van der Corput, with a thesis on ''Systems of Diophantine Inequalities''. Around the same time, aged 26, he was invited to become full professor at the ''Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam''. He accepted and in 1930 became the first professor in mathematics at this university. Koksma is also one of the founders of the Dutch ''Mathematisch Centrum'' (today ''Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica''). One of Koksma's main works was the book ''Diophantische Approximationen'', published in 1936 by Springer. He also wrote several papers with Paul Erdős. Jurrie Koolhof
Jurjen Jacob (Jurrie) Koolhof (10 January 1960 – 28 January 2019) was a Dutch international football striker and manager. As a player, Koolhof had a long and productive career, with 190 league goals. He played for a number of clubs in the Netherlands including Vitesse Arnhem, F.C. Groningen, De Graafschap and PSV Eindhoven. For the latter he scored a total of 69 goals in 106 appearances and had an effective partnership with Norway's Hallvar Thoresen in the mid-1980s. Club career He began his career at the local pride BV Veendam, breaking into the first-team squad in 1978. He began scoring prolifically in the late 1980s, thus attracting attention. He was transferred to Vitesse Arnhem in 1980, the same year they were relegated from the Eredivisie (first) to the Erste (second) Divisie.
