Julie Vollertsen
Julie Jo Vollertsen Melli (born March 1, 1959, in Syracuse, Nebraska) is an American former female professional volleyball player. Her main achievement is her part in the silver medal won by the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. She later moved to Italy to play professionally, settling in Reggio Emilia where she stayed after ending her playing career. Career Palmyra High School The Nebraskan led the Palmyra High School volleyball team to their first appearance in the state tournament, earning Sunday Journal and Star All-State honors. Graduating in 1977, she was later inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame (in 1994). Team USA Straight out of high school, Vollertsen travelled to California to take part in a six-week tryout for the women's junior national volleyball team, she ended up being the only one to be kept on the team. Coto De Caza, California
Coto de Caza (Spanish for "Hunting Reserve") is a census-designated place (CDP) and guard-gated private community in Orange County, California. The population was 14,799 at the 2017 census. The CDP is a suburban planned community of about 4,000 homes and one of Orange County's oldest and most expensive master-planned communities. The project began in 1968, when it was envisioned as a hunting lodge, now the Lodge at Coto de Caza, and the community was completed in 2003. Coto de Caza also includes Los Ranchos Estates, a 355-acre rural community of 75 large custom homes. The 1984 Women's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was the 6th edition of the event, organized by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the IOC. The NORCECA Women's Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). ''The Dispatch'' is an American, English language daily newspaper published in Lexington, North Carolina. The newspaper is published Tuesday through Saturday with no Sunday or Monday editions. History ''The Dispatch'' began publication in 1902, succeeding the weekly ''Davidson Dispatch'' (1882–1902), founded by T.B. Eldridge. The paper increased to semi-weekly publication in 1919 and to a six-day-a-week schedule on September 6, 1948. On September 1, 2008 the publication eliminated its Monday edition and was published only five days.
