Charles Taylor Sherman
Charles Taylor Sherman (February 3, 1811 – January 1, 1879) was an American district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Education and career Born on February 3, 1811, in Norwalk, Connecticut, Sherman graduated from Ohio University in 1830, with financial aid from one of his father's friends, after his father died in 1829. He read law in 1833, in the office of Henry Stoddard and under Judge Jacob Parker. He was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1833, and entered private practice in Mansfield, Ohio, from 1835 to 1867, later joined by his brother John. He was a city councilman for Mansfield in 1846. Active in public and business affairs, Sherman contributed money, labor and personal influence to the location and building of the Sandusky, Mansfield and Newark Railroad and the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad becoming a director of both organizations. Daniel Sherman (October 14, 1721 in Connecticut – July 28, 1799) was an American state legislator and judge from Connecticut. He sat in the Connecticut General Assembly for 30 years. Gary Sherman (politician)
Gary E. Sherman (born May 5, 1949) is a retired American lawyer and Democratic politician from Bayfield County, Wisconsin. He served nine years as a judge of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in the Madison-based 4th district (2010–2019). He previously served 11 years as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 74th Assembly district from 1999 to 2010, and was president of the State Bar of Wisconsin from 1994 to 1995. Early life and education Gary Sherman was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Chicago's A. G. Lane Technical High School in 1966 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Taylor Sherman
Taylor Sherman (September 5, 1758 – May 14, 1815) was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from Norwalk in the sessions of May 1794, May 1795, and May 1796. Sherman was born in Woodbury, Connecticut on September 5, 1758. He was the son of Judge Daniel Sherman. and Mindwell Taylor Sherman. He married Elizabeth Stoddard of Woodbury in 1787. After he was admitted to the bar, he moved to Norwalk, where he practiced law. He was a judge of Probate for the District of Norwalk from the creation of the district in 1802 until his death. He was appointed collector of Internal Revenue for the Second District of Connecticut by James Madison. He was appointed Agent to survey land in the Connecticut Western Reserve consisting of a half million acres which was granted to those who suffered losses from the Battle of Norwalk.
