Joyland (Schultz Novel)
Joyland is the debut novel of Canadian author Emily Schultz published by ECW Press in 2005. In 2013 due to the publication of Stephen King's novel of the same name the ebook version of Schultz's novel received a bump in publication sales due to readers mistaking her work for King's which was not yet available for purchase as an ebook. As a response Schultz created the humour blog ''Spending the Stephen King Money'', detailing the purchases she made from the bump in royalties along with a blurb as to whether or not she believed King would approve of her purchases. In June 2014, King responded to her blog saying that he was happy for Schultz Schultz is a German and Dutch surname derived from ''Schultheiß'', meaning village headman or constable/sheriff in the medieval sense (akin to today's office of mayor). It has many variations, such as Schuldt, Schulte, Schulten, Schultes, Schul ... and was going to purchase her book. References External links Spending the Stephen King Mo ... Joyland (Trust Album)
''Joyland'' is the second studio album by Canadian electronic music project TR/ST, fronted by Robert Alfons. It was released on March 4, 2014 through Arts & Crafts Records in North America. The album debuted at No. 12 on the ''Billboard'' Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Three singles have been released to promote the album: "Rescue, Mister", "Capitol" and "Are We Arc?", all accompanied by music videos. Development The album was developed solely by Robert Alfons since Austra's Maya Postepski left TR/ST shortly after the release of their debut studio album. ''Joyland'' was "written in different places in the world while touring" as opposed to the first album which was primarily developed in Toronto. In Alfons' opinion that made a big difference, because the album was now influenced by the vast "energy from the live shows" and a boost of self-confidence. Alfons also states that this boost has led him to be "a bit more playful with many aspects of the record", especially his vocals. ... A number of YouTube videos featuring McKee's highly-technical guitar performances have achieved viral fame, garnering hundreds of millions of views collectively. Life and career McKee played his first guitar, an Aria nylon string bought by his father, at age 13. Initially underwhelmed by his guitar lessons, McKee began teaching himself how to play guitar. He began learning shred guitar music, including songs by Metallica, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satriani. McKee's electric guitar-playing cousin inspired him to continue learning, taking him out for his 16th birthday to see a guitarist named Preston Reed perform live at a clinic. McKee later bought an instructional videotape from Reed and began to learn many of his acoustic guitar techniques from it. Later that year, with his mother's permission, he obta ... It is the band's first collection of new studio material since their reformation with new lead singer Paul McLoone, which occurred in November 1999. Allmusic stated in their review that "It's almost unthinkable, really, that Derry's fabled good-time teen punks of yesteryear would record and continue... let alone that their output would be anything less than embarrassing." The website also stated that "you have everything you need for a complete escape to more innocent, drunken, loutish times with a smile on the faces of everyone in your immediate vicinity" and recommended the album. Overview )))">allmusic ((( Get What You Need > Overview )))/ref> ''Uncut Magazine'' gave a favorable review as well, remarking that its songs "inhabit the same ageless corner of garage band heaven as earlier classics". Joyland (Great Yarmouth)
Joyland is a historic free entry amusement park located in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, on the coast of East Anglia. The theme park opened in 1949 on the site of the former Anchor Gardens next to Britannia Pier. The park is famous locally and across the country for the Snails and Tyrolean Tubs rides designed and manufactured by engineering entrepreneur Horace Cole and the family-owned engineering business. The Tyrolean Tubs is notable as the only Virginia Reel roller coaster (albeit in miniature form) in operation in the world. Joyland is renowned for its heritage rides, which have remained unchanged through generations of patrons, allowing parents to share the rides remembered from their childhood with their children. The biggest change to the park occurred in 1984 when the main centerpiece of the park (a 1950s Noah's Ark ride) was removed and replaced with a space shuttle attraction called the "Space Base" and then again in 1996 when the centrepiece was demolished and replaced b ...
