''Joyà'' is an 80-minute long resident show at the Grupo Vidanta, Vidanta resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, produced as a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and its subsidiarCirque du Soleil Events + Experiences(formerly 45 Degrees). It is Cirque du Soleil's first resident show in Latin America. Culture meets nature ''Joyà'' premiered on November 8, 2014, inside a custom-built theatre set in the jungle, with a 600 guests capacity. The exterior design of the theatre was inspired by organic forms in a clearing surrounded by trees. Before excavation and construction of the theatre could begin, biologists meticulously identified all flora and fauna specimens inhabiting the site, so that they could be relocated in similar surroundings prior to the groundbreaking ceremony. ''Joya'' is the fifth studio album by American musician Will Oldham. It was released on Drag City in 1997 as the first album billed to his name, rather than the Palace or Bonnie "Prince" Billy monikers. It also features Bob Arellano, Colin Gagon, and David Pajo. In 2007, when the album became available for download through iTunes, the artist credit was changed to Bonnie "Prince" Billy, with altered artwork reflecting the change. Critical reception Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, saying, "it's a promising, ultimately unfulfilling record that doesn't quite prove whether Oldham is a songwriter of pretense or genuine talent." Joya Mooi
Joya Mooi (born 9 December 1990) is a Dutch singer-songwriter and producer. Early life Mooi was born to a South African Tswana father from Soweto and a Dutch mother. Her father was a member of the African National Congress (ANC) and fled the Apartheid government to Angola, where her mother was working at a hospital. Mooi's three older siblings were born there before the family moved to the Netherlands, settling in Deventer. At age 15, Mooi began studying jazz music at the ArtEZ Conservatorium. Joya Sherrill (August 20, 1924 – June 28, 2010) was an American jazz vocalist and children's television show host. Biography Sherrill was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, on August 20, 1924. Her first ambition was to become a writer: she was the editor of her school paper. She had a sister, Alice. Sherrill began her career with Duke Ellington in July 1942 when she was 17 years old. After a period at Wilberforce University, she rejoined in 1944 and remained with Ellington until 1946, when she left to marry Richard Guilmenot. Ellington considered her one of his favorite singers. "I never really left the band. I did recordings and special occasions. Duke would call me for jobs once a year at least," Sherrill told John S. Wilson in 1979.
