Josh Williams (Welsh Footballer)
Joshua James Williams (born 13 July 2004) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Tranmere Rovers. Career Connah's Quay Nomads Williams joined Connah's Quay Nomads in the under-8 age group. He went on to help the academy win the Cymru Premier Development North in the 2022 season, losing the national title on penalties. He served Wales Schools as captain and scored a hat-trick as they won the Centenary Shield in 2022. He made his first-team debut in October 2021. He helped Connah's Quay Nomads to win the Welsh Cup in 2024, winning the Goal of the Month award in April for his winning goal in the competition. He was named as player of the match in the final as Nomads defeated The New Saints 2–1 at Rodney Parade. Tranmere Rovers On 1 July 2024, Williams joined League Two club Tranmere Rovers on a two-year contract. Welsh League Cup
The Cymru League Cup, currently known as the Nathaniel MG Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a cup competition in Welsh association football, football organised by the Football Association of Wales. The competition was established in 1992 and is considered to be the second-most important domestic cup competition for Welsh football clubs, after the older and more prestigious Welsh Cup. 2023–24 Welsh Cup
The 2023–24 FAW Welsh Cup was the 136th season of the annual knockout tournament for competitive football teams in Wales. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League first qualifying round. The New Saints were the defending cup holders (for the third consecutive season). The Football Association Challenge Trophy, also known as the Isuzu FA Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after The Football Association (the FA) and competed by mainly National League teams.
