Josep Ferrer I Bujons
Josep Ferrer i Bujons (born in Sant Martí de Maçana, Rubió, 12 May 1959) is a Catalan linguist, author, poet and professor graduate in Catalan Philology. He has written five books, of which the first four are compilations of poems. Ferrer has been corrector and editor of the weekly local newspaper '' La Veu de l'Anoia'' and he also has collaborated in the Anoia edition of Regió 7, another Catalan local newspaper. He has also been professor of Catalan language and literature in some high schools of Secondary education in Central Catalonia. Likewise, Ferrer is a co-founder of the magazine '' Revista d'Igualada'' (2nd period). Ferrer has also published several opinion articles in a local digital newspaper, Anoiadiari.cat. Nowadays, he works as a corrector at the Catalan language edition of ''El Periódico de Catalunya'', the best-selling newspaper in Catalonia. Rubió
Rubió () is a rural Municipalities of Spain, municipality in the Comarques of Catalonia, ''comarca'' of Anoia in Catalonia, Spain. Its administrative centre is the village of Rubió, and other villages include Sant Martí de Maçana, Maçana and El Pla de Rubió. As of 2014, the municipality had 228 inhabitants. At it is one of the largest municipalities of the Alta Segarra, and at one time was the most sparsely populated. Overview In 1840, the old municipality of Sant Martí de Maçana, Maçana annexed Rubió to increase its population; the municipal limits remain unchanged from then on. Two theories exist about the origin of the toponym Rubió. One holds that it derives from ''rubeus'' (coppery), possibly alluding to the red colour of the land and the rocks of the mountain on which was built the Castell de Rubió. Comarques Centrals
Central Catalonia' (; ), also known as ''Comarques Centrals'', is one of the nine regions ('' vegueries'') of Catalonia. It had 412,033 inhabitants in 2022. Located around the upper and middle sections of the Llobregat and Ter rivers, it includes the counties of Bages, Berguedà, Lluçanès, Moianès, Osona and Solsonès. It borders to the north-west with Alt Pirineu, to the west with Ponent, to the south with Penedès, to the south-east with Barcelona and to the north and north-east with Girona. Its ''de facto'' capital is Manresa, the most populous city, as a law has not set one yet. Igualada
Igualada () is a municipality and capital of Anoia county in Penedès, Catalonia, Spain. It is located on the left bank of the Anoia River and at the western end of the Igualada-Martorell-Barcelona Railway. Igualada is the capital and central market of the Anoia comarca, a rich agricultural and wine-producing district. Its population was 38,918 in 2009. The city consists of an old town, founded in the 11th century, with narrow and irregular streets, including the remains of a fortress and ramparts, plus a new surrounding town with regular and spacious streets and many fine houses. The city is west of Barcelona and west of the famous mountain and monastery of Montserrat.
