José Álvarez Junco
José Álvarez Junco (born 1942) is a Spanish historian, emeritus professor of the History of Thought and Political and Social Movements at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). He is an expert in the study of the nation-building of Spain, nationalisms and the anarchist movement. Biography Born on 8 November 1942 in Vielha, in the Catalan Pyrenees, he moved young with his family to Villalpando (province of Zamora), where he was raised and spent his youth. He took his highschool studies at the , in the provincial capital, Zamora, Spain, Zamora. He studied law (1959–1964) and political science (1962–1965) at the Complutense University of Madrid, University of Madrid. A pupil of Luis Díez del Corral and José Antonio Maravall during his university years, he earned a PhD at the UCM reading a thesis on the Spanish anarchist movement supervised by Maravall. José Ricardo Álvarez (born May 6, 1989) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Francisco Giants. Jose Lino Alvarez (born April 12, 1956) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He played four seasons at the major league level, pitching for the Atlanta Braves. He played for the Braves in 1981 and 1982, then spent five seasons in the minor leagues before returning to the Braves in 1988 and 1989. After a successful season in 1988 and earning the Atlanta Braves Most Outstanding Pitcher Award, Jose began the 1989 season in fine fashion with 2 wins and a save. Álvarez attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he played baseball for the USL Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team. José Francisco Álvarez (1796–1841) was an Argentine lawyer, military and politician who served briefly as governor of the province of Córdoba. He was born in Córdoba, in the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata, and died in San Juan, Argentina on August 22, 1841.
